Dude, Highlander Games in Boonton is the place to go! The owner's name is Scott, and he loves the game himself and is always hosting tournaments and events at his store.
We play the IA Campaign every-other Thursday night, and we have occasional skirmish tournaments (with league kit stuff as prizes) too.

I played today with ZeroTorque. Skirmish is a lot of fun and cant wait to play more.
Highlander games in an hour drive for me although I would be willing to make it to get games in.

Well they put out a thing on their face book today (and accepted my request) they wont be doing regionals for IA skirmish 8(
Hey, Not sure how far you are from Barnegat NJ but Trotta's Hobbies has a pretty solid IA community! We have Imperial Assault Regionals on January 7th, 2017 if you're interested!

I'm square in the middle of central NJ. Equal distance between Highlander and Trotta's (almost an hour to both). Not much in the way of local game stores in this area. There's The Game Room in Woodbridge Mall, and two new stores: Jinx Games & Hobbies in Matawan, and Nova Games in Freehold. Wouldn't be opposed to getting some Skirmish going in one of these shops.
