Going to watch Rebels?

Probably the time for someone like me who enjoyed the series to make a list of essential episodes so people interested in Thrawn have a general picture of the show without having to suffer through some of the filler episodes.

That might be useful, yes.

Though I am a completionist, I"ll watch it all, now that I've decided to start watching it.

Too bad I need to concentrate on universtity right now and have no time to go through the episodes, I really would love to.

Star Wars fans around the world rejoice for your beloved Thrawn lives in Canon!

I never read any EU. But I've been well educated by this forum about how awesome he was. I only hope he now lives up to his EU reputation.

:D

I was at the panel when they first showed him.

The atmosphere in that room was crazy. :)

I won't watch rebels, but I'll definitely read the book.

I've just started Rebels, watched the first 5 or so episodes.

Did they mean to copy the crew setup from Firefly? :P .

A little less wisecracky, but still.

They kind of did, but another source of inspiration for the cast were typical RPG parties. I never played a Star Wars RPG, but I heard quite a few people are getting a nostalgia blast from the setting and cast.

I can see it.

Groups always seem to have a Chopper, a Kanan, a Hera, a Zeb... Not so sure on Sabine or Ezra.

Ezra characters are for the campaigns where the GM has a special purpose built in to one character that the whole campaign hinges around. It's usually his g/f that he breaks up with half way through the campaign.

Oh that reminds me, my ZF Stack Rebels shirt got released. maybe the shirt will survive until the book comes out.

Ahahaha

Chopper is the clown of the group. Kanan is the one taking it too seriously and playing badass. Zeb is.... that one guy who plays a fighter. You know who I mean.

Sabine/Hera are two sides of the same coin. Usually the DM's missus, either a girlfriend new to it playing a character, or the group mom.

I know a lot of people brought hate for Ezra and his stun-slingshot at first, but for my money it was pure nostalgia; the 1987 West End Games Star Wars RPG had a character template called simply, "Kid," which had a slingshot in its starting inventory. There's a ton of evidence in the show that at least one person high up in the creative team used to play that game back in the day, and it was confirmed by Dave Filoni at Star Wars Celebration this year that it's definitely true!
