Shadows and Dust OOC

By Prophyt, in Star Wars: Force and Destiny RPG

Jedi cruiser is next

Return fire : 1eA+2eP+2eD+3eS 2 failures, 1 advantage
They miss, but they provide a boost to the next PC slot (yes, PC slot, not Micc'm)
Enemy Slot. Sith squadron 3 is down to 1 ship and it bugs out, fleeing to the Sith cruiser to dock.
Micc'm fires at Squadron 4
We're doing well, Jedi. Keep it up! : 1eA+3eP+1eD+1eC+1eS 2 failures, 4 advantage
Missing, but we'll spend 3 advantage to have an errant bolt from the Jedi cruiser barrage destroy a ship in Squadron 4 and use the remaining to pass another boost to the next PC slot.
Enemy slot. Squadron 4 is also down to 1 ship and it bugs out as well.
PC slot now. There are only 2 Squadrons currently remaining

So I'm targeting Sith Squadron 5. Using Stay on Target from last time, and a further Stay on Target maneuver this turn, as well as my temporary rank of Gunnery, that lovely floating Boost and an astromech Boost:

Gunnery check : 2eP+1eA+2eB+2eD 2 successes, 4 advantage

5 + 2 x 2 (activating Linked) = 14 damage

Spending the other two advantage to give the next PC two Boost dice. Space 'em

I'll get an IC post up in the morning, unless anyone else is quicker on the draw and types one out first.

You destroy one of their ships.

ONE?!!!!

Ahem...excuse me, Dark Side moment. Those are some tough ships!

You need three advantage available in order to boost the next PC twice

They have 2 armor and 6 HT

Squadron 5 shoots at

Who to shoot : 1d6 4 Xaramis

Destroy the Je'daii : 2eA+1eP+2eD+1eS 1 failure, 1 advantage
They use evasive maneuvers
Squadron 6 shoots at
Who to shoot : 1d6 2 Rin
Destroy the Je'Daii : 1eA+2eP+2eD+1eS 2 successes, 2 threat
8 damage before Armor. Spend the threat how you guys want (you can spend it to give the next PC a boost)
I'm going to IC Micc'm and the Jedi cruiser soon

Also, I've been re-reading the IC thread to see how much Conflict to award for Session 2 so far.

Garon: 5

Xaramis: 3

Rin: 1

Ren-Do: 1

Sonya: 2

Kellen: 1

Ok two questions:

1. The rules state that I may spend 1 Adv to give a Boost 'to the next allied active character's next Piloting, Gunnery, Computer or Mechanics check'. If I'm giving two, how does that cost 3 Adv?

2. Out of curiosity, how are you issuing Conflict? Do I need to stop flirting?

Rin needs more ways to use the force! Think I need Enhance soon.

Rin will go next, loosing a wingman from that last shot, taking 2 free boost on this attack against squadron 6 as they leave themselves open.

Aim twice again then attack:

Coming in Hot : 2eA+1eP+5eB+1eD+1eC+1eS 3 successes, 1 advantage

a-s.png a-s.png p-a-a.png b-s.png b--.png b--.png b-s-a.png b--.png d--.png c-f-th.png s-th.png

Xaramis's conflict mostly comes from his near mental break due to fear in 2a.

The 1 points come from preparing violence against the enemy before they attacked. (feel free to defend yourselves if you'd like, and I might change my mind)

Garon's Conflict is quite obvious. All the anger and violence.

As far as I know, the only effect that can be purchased multiple times with Advantage/Threat is recovering or inflicting strain for 1 Advantage/Threat apiece. To provide more than 1 boost, you have to purchase the boost for 1 advantage to the next PC action, and 2 advantage for a boost to the next PC check of your choice. If I'm wrong, please let me know, so I can correct the issue.

I'd always assumed that as it's being assigned to the next slot, not a chosen slot, you could just spend 1 Adv on it multiple times. Does the rulebook limit it at all? I don't want to be a rules lawyer, and your word does stand, but I'm just going on how I see it.

Richard, you destroy 1 of the ships in Squadron 5

CC: I will look up in the CRB. Give me a few minutes

Oh, and Sonya's 2nd Conflict is from her reaction to seeing her dead Master at the end of 2b

I'm fine with Conflict. The dark side is always there. Quick to join you in the fight.

Okay, CC, I looked it up. The CRB doesn't say anything about whether or not a Boost to the next PC check can be purchased more than once. The GM screen does say that recovering/suffering strain can be purchased multiple times, but that's it. So, unless anyone else wishes to say otherwise, I will allow the double boost, CC

I think the final slot goes to Ren-Do, according to the sheet

I won't be able to post again until late tomorrow night.

Right, thanks for clarifying. Sorry if I appear to be that guy, but I just wanted to resolve the issue. At the end of the day the GM's word is law, so thank you for accomodating me. Also thanks for the clarification on the Conflict - I can definitely see that the freakout would have caused a gain (shall I take a couple more, it was a pretty hefty freakout?)

If you want more conflict, I can give you some, but I won't force it on you.

Well, everyone, wish me luck and mental fortitude. Today is my first day back at my s***hole job after a 9 day vacation, and I am not feeling enthusiastic or the least bit positive about returning. I really wish I could lock down a better full time job, because my boss is doing her best to get me out the door...

JR: once Kymrel gets in Ren-Do's action, we'll switch over to the boarding party for a little while.

Rough jobs really suck. Everyone has been there with terrible managers and bosses, just keep looking for that better job.

Been tryin'. Haven't found anything full-time yet that pays me as much or more than I'm currently making. But thanks for the encouragement

Sorry to keep you all waiting.

I'll keep doing Stay on Target (upgrades once, adding an ability die), get a boost is for the droid and flip a DP as well to give me some semblance of a chance with an extra setback (so 2 total because of the shields). Really could use a floating boosts or six, but don't think there are any available. If you find any I'll happily roll those.

Shooting the baddies again : 2eP+1eB+2eD+2eS 1 failure, 1 Triumph
Hm. Again, Ren-Do's shooting is unimpressive, to say the least. Fortunately, the Triumph shall be used to allow my lovely squadron to give them hell!
Agility 3 and 5 man squadron with Stay on Target and astromech boost is a non-trivial prospect:
Squadron's pilots fire thanks to Triumph : 4eP+1eB+2eD+1eS 3 successes, 3 advantage
So, 8 damage, using 2 advantages to activate linked (so damage is 8+8), last one to give the next fighter pilot to shoot a boost die.
IC post incoming as soon as the GM has adjudicated how many baddies die!

Okay, so your wing destroys the last ship in Squadron 5 and heavily damages a ship in Squadron 6

Okay, so your wing destroys the last ship in Squadron 5 and heavily damages a ship in Squadron 6

Well, my wing rocks somewhat more than I do -_-

On the topic of Conflict, I believe Ren should have received some for the horrible memory of loosing his Mentor. I'm definitely not playing him with the intention of him being Light Side Paragon. Guess I better find some more selfish motivation for him :o
