Shadows and Dust OOC

By Prophyt, in Star Wars: Force and Destiny RPG

The second Xaramis touches the light floating above the center of the square, blue light fills the ship and the minds of all on board...

[End of Session 1]

Hm. It seems the forum has deleted the second sentence. Here it is again: Xaramis loses his hand in an explosion of blood, bone and flesh and quickly determines that his policy to try anything once is unsustainable, even before he tries to wrestle a silverback Gundark.

:P

"I'll try anything once," winking intensifies .

Seriously man, it's good to have your support for my curious behaviour. It's not like it's my motivation and morality.

XP breakdown - 5 existing + 30 new

Influence Magnitude upgrade - 5 XP

Influence Control upgrade - 15 XP

Parry 1 - 10 XP

Coercion 1 - 5 XP

I'll take Piloting (Space), I think.

Oh man, it's going to turn into another difficulty upgrade fest lol

So basically the eventual traitor and only non-force user is the only one to score a light side point, yeah?

Makes you wonder about these "Jedi"...

Sounds about right in the game I GM.

Edit: added "in". . . . . grammar is important.

Prophyt,

Before I decide how to spend XP, I take it our holocron is not going to offer the "Mentor" group resource (e.g., 5XP reduction of basic Force Powers)? I'm fine with that but would like to know before spending XP. Thanks.

The holocron is the mentor. You guys just haven't met "him" yet. That's going to be the focus of session 2

Cool. Now back to figuring out how to spend my XP!

That's why you guys only get one class skill from the holocron instead of two

XP Spent:

1 rank of Athletics @10XP

1 rank of Scathing Tirade @10XP

1 rank of Bad Cop @ 10XP

I still have 5 XP remaining (I miscalculated during character creation. Thanks, OggDude), which I am going to bank.

I figured you guys could use some Destiny help.

Figured as much. I want to buy a couple of basic Force-powers, but will hold off on that purchase for a session or two.

XP Spent:

1 Rank Mechanics @ 5XP

Side Step 1 @ 5XP

Bank: 20XP

As cool as running a crafter could be, I'm kind of desensitized about them from my Ex-gm/now player, droid builder gambler. Around 1000 xp and he's got 7 Int and 6 mechanics, and a full forge/recycler to reduce difficulty 3 or 4 times. I know it's a bit extreme, but . . . . .

Also being a crafter at starting xp is a bit of a cred sink unless one can do a good amount of salvage jobs to sub scrap for credits.

I think I'm more interested in playing a medic. I know there are 2 people already with high intellect, but I'd rather be a medic for more of the bonus from the tree. That sexy sexy Stim Application and the fun "It's not that bad". Big Bad Evil Guy rolls 151 on a crit after durable? NOPE! Rub some dirt in it and get on with it.

I would like to say a huge thank you for letting me play before some one rotated out. Also I should add that Sonya completely ignored Xaramis because Kellen immediately said she had a good idea after that. Just letting you know it was not due to OOC discomfort. If he pursues that, I can see some very amusing exchanges. (Hint: she is really only interested in lightsabre training at this point)

You are most welcome. The hardest part of GMing 7 was basically doing 2 separate stories until Sonya met the group. But it allowed me to flesh out quite a lot that I haven't been able to with my local group (4 people, all of them had characters starting on the Aurora Grey)

Not to mention, they railroaded through a bit of the narrative you guys received. They don't even know about most of the bad guys who were on the destroyer.

Xaramis is also interested in his lightsaber. Make of that what you will.

Some first steps into the light (not what I was expecting, but hey).

I just wanted to say at the end of this session that the game up to now has been an absolute blast. I've never played a Face in any game (of any system) up to this point, and I'm really enjoying it - a fact that I attribute entirely to the players and GM that we have. A PbP thrives on its post rate, and this one has the best of any game I've played thus far. It could go far, but only if we keep it up. Prophyt is doing a brilliant job as GM, and we should all congratulate him on that, but we as players have our own responsibility to be prompt in posting and to work with him to make the game a success. If we work together and keep things as they've been up to this point though, I have no doubt that this will be a great game.

d'aww you're making me blush

XD

And no, brown-nosing won't get you extra experience points

Dang it! I mean, that was not my intention.

But if you're feeling generous...

No! Bad ColonelCommissar *sprays with a water bottle*

I agree with CC. I've played in several games in the year or so since I got into PbP. This is off to a brilliant start. It has a unique premise, a very good and active GM, and a good post rate from all the players with good quality posts!

I agree.

This game is off to an amazing start and is a lot of fun.

Just wait until session two, when all the PCs get thrown into a Force-fueled flashback to 4000 years ago *cough*

Ooh! Knight-level scene before we all get stripped back down again!

Wait, what are Xaramis and Tok going to do? *hides red shirt*

Did I mention that Ren-Do was considered to be a protegee back in his day? The most powerful Jedi Knight in a millennia his master said. Destined to be the grandmaster of the order before long. At least two thousand XP earned in play already with all the force powers in the book, his envious rivals within the order grumbled, as they themselves were stuck at 175 xps.

:P

Well, you all are cruisin' for a metaphorical bruisin'

lol
