Shadows and Dust OOC

By Prophyt, in Star Wars: Force and Destiny RPG

Now that I've got my book in hand - the entry for Training Lightsaber states it does have a crystal, either a kathracite or danite crystal. They also have a low power output generator. To turn it into a full-powered lightsaber one needs to replace the crystal and the power generator.

I thought all that was needed was to insert a crystal.

This entry also refers to the training emitter as a crystal. And the emitter entry explicitly says it's a lightsaber crystal so fluff wise it's a kathracite or danite crystal but mechanically it's a training emitter.

I start running this game with my local group tonight. Can't wait

Good luck!

I've got 4 hours left to worry about it xD

Discipline check : 3eA+3eS+2eD 2 failures, 2 threat

Rin gets another bout of vomiting? 2 Strain?

Probably not this time. But we'll see. I won't be able to post IC for another hour 20

Well that went well

I assume your live game folks didn't debate what ship they wanted for 2.5 days?

They're all Jedicicles. No ship

Cool check : 1eP+3eA+1eC+1eD+1eS 1 success

Can I post IC to answer Ren-Do's last set of questions?

Yes

Perhaps Richardbuxton should edit the IC mention of the year 608. The correct year to reference would probably be 21,057 Coruscant Standard Calendar (I have no idea what event people 4000 years ago used as a point of reference for their calendar so this is the simplest way...). As a consequence I guess ColonelComissar should also edit that portion of his post.

Should we just stick to the ATC system, as it seems a slightly easier system all things considered (or indeed not get hung up on it on a detail)?

Would have loved that, but since we have been in stasis for 4000 years, not 3000, we actually went in before the Treaty of Coruscant, so using that as a frame of reference for the Jedi is sort of off. Just like using BBY before the Battle of Yavin ;)

I find it ironic, yet fitting, that Xaramis succeeded that check

Xaramis and Rin recover first from the Force Scream.

Rin will suffer 2 Strain from the impact of the Force Scream on his mind.

"Gundark" suffers 2 Conflict from the Dark Side taint in the Force Scream.

Ren-Do suffers 1 Conflict from the Dark Side taint in the Force Scream, he also suffers 2 Strain.

Kellen merely suffers 1 Strain from the impact of the Force Scream on his mind.

Roger that. Sheet updated.

Just so you guys don't hate me for being an evil GM, there is a plot reason for this.

Sounds good.

Could you elaborate in a non-doom-laden way?

Certainly!

Xaramis is, by far, the least familiar with the Living Force among the Force Sensitives present. A terrified scream reverberating through the Force into his mind and tainted with the Dark Side should theoretically have the greatest effect on him.

Conversely, the source of this Force Scream is also "attuned" to the Force as it existed in 3996 BBY. So, it would have a greater effect on the Jedicicles for that reason.

But I liked the doom-laden way. Since it was not directed at my character -_-

Kymrel: do you want to try using Sense to detect a precise location of the Force concentration or would you rather attempt Perception?

Let's go with the Sense option....

Ah FFS. If I use the dark pip, will I find the thing?
EDIT: It is somewhat appropriate to roll nothing but dark side, given the state we're in...

Also, do I see something interesting from this lock-thingy I picked up?
