Knowledge - Recognizing language : 4eA+3eD 5 successes, 2 threat
Oh hell yes, Ren-Do knows loads of stuff and and is really good at figuring things out. The two threats though...

Because I'm an evil, evil GM, Ren-Do suffers 2 more Strain from his massive "ice cream headache" *chortle*

Do I need to roll to understand and respond to Kellen?

Yes. Same check (Intelligence or Knowledge Lore if you've got it) and difficulty pool I gave to sonovabith.

Sure. Sheet updated. Good to have a nice pool of 15 strain * the way things are going. Makes perfect sense though, given the circumstances.

*No, that is not a challenge. You must fight that impulse Mr. GM. Fight it!

Success means Xaramis can understand the ancient version of Galactic Basic the Jedicicles are speaking. Unfortunately, the 3 threat means...oh dear...the heavy accents give you a headache, causing 1 Strain, and the next PC suffers 1 Setback to their next check

The oManther issue being an unmarked ADZ -class destroyer demanding he halt engines and prepare to be boarded for cargo inspection. Today was not a very good day...

Wow, I'm glad I wrote the musings about being on a ship being boarded before you posted this!

Well, this is how we'll get Ulric's character in play

Hmm, I see my IC post is pretty out of order now. Sorry about that. I got busy at work part way through and kept on going without checking.

Playing Imperials and former Imperials can be such fun. All one has to do is channel racist elderly rich white people and it just pours right out

Don't worry about that. This always seems to happen in PbP. It requires a bit of creative reading to keep the context when multiple people are doing something together and speaking about several things.

Quick question. For me as a player, not that my character would currently know. What year is it currently?

Somewhere between 5 and 0 BBY

So I'm watching my "guilty pleasure" movie. Which isn't really a guilty pleasure. I just love this movie. Star Trek First Contact

that is a good movie.

took me a while to catch up, sorry sleep and all that got in the way.

Do you speaker my Language : 4eA+3eD+1eS 1 success, 2 advantage

My 2 advantage will begin to reduce the nausea Rin is feeling, and perhaps a memory or 2 will return.

Something cinematic, eh? Very well. Rin remembers what Ren-Do's favorite dessert is. Have fun with that one ;)

Should have rolled this sooner

Kellen - understand dialect : 3eA+3eD 0 successes

Great posts everyone. I'll try to keep up :)

No checks from Garon. He's going to be a (semi)silent observer.

that is a good movie.

Just so you know the whole time i was making this roll the chorus of this song was going through my head...

did i mention i'm an Aussie.

Feel free to have your characters interject, interrupt, or whatever my latest post and I'll adjust it accordingly.

dam it, i was half way through an IC reply before when i got distracted... closed the window and now gotta start again! grr.

Out of interest what is the time scale we would have used in 3000BBY, since its BBY that even has yet to occur. ill edit it into my IC post later if someone can answer.

It is a bit tricky, but most likely we would use a calendar counting from the Treaty of Coruscant. That treaty was made in 3653 BBY. This, by the way, is (from what I could tell) the way they would have done it right up until the Battle of Yavin change.

So if, for example, we are from the time 3000 BBY the year when we went into hypernation would be 653.

The problem is that the GM hasn't told us exactly what year it is at the moment, nor exactly how long we have been in hypernation.

If the current year is the year in which the Battle of Yavin will take place, the year would be 3653 ATC (After the Treaty of Coruscant). If it is six years before that it would be 3647.

It would be helpful for the IC discussion if the GM could pin down a) what year it is when we emerge presicely, and b) what year the jedicicles entered hypernation.

"Best to put it in youngling mode," he muttered quietly to himself, as he removed the crystal and adjusted the emitter to work without it.

A light saber will not work without something in the crystal chamber. Kellen might have had a Training Emitter (see equipment chapter in the F&D core book) in his beltpouch for sparring with younglings that he can slot in. I'm going to have Ren-Do's crystal damaged by the cryo-tube, able to emit a weakened blade only, which will have equivalent power to a training saber. You could go down that road too, or have the crystal destroyed and a training emitter at hand.

Thanks for that, it's enough for what I need. I wasn't looking for an exact date since Rin's memories are very patchy, his memory of the date could be off by 10 or more years.

Indeed. I just know Ren-Do would know his own date of birth, since his early memories are mostly intact. Up to age 6-7 when they start to get blurry. This is why a precise date would help -_-
