Shadows and Dust OOC

Do we have access to the Mentor discount? I cannot remember.

As of this point, you do not, since your Mentor requested a mercy killing. The class skill provided by the holocron is a permanent effect, regardless of whether or not it's destroyed

We are such bad students that our mentor would rather be killed than try to tutor us... *cries in the corner*

Haha! Sad but true.

I really enjoyed that Prophyt, it was different and interesting.

Thanks! Lots of twists and turns in that humongous session.

Yesterday was hectic - I'll try to get caught up today.

How much XP did we earn? And has our "Mentor" XP discount on basic force powers kicked in yet?

50 big ones. Spend 'em well.

I'd agree, that was a very interesting session. Lots of variety and interest to keep things moving, as well as a range of scenarios. It was fun.

It has been very interesting so far, and looks very promising with the flawed holocron and the plea from the keeper for Tok to destroy the holocron, and with Tok's family in danger.

Ren-Do's long-term plans, once he's been informed better of the current galactic situation, will be to rebuild the Jedi Order. Doing so would probably call for some contact with the Rebellion, I would think.

But that's long term. Should we discuss where our interests might lie in the near future? I would imagine getting Tok's family out of harms way would be Ren-Do's first priority if only he knew what the situation is . But since he doesn't, his first choice would be to travel to some place where he knows the Jedi used to find lightsaber crystals. An unarmed Jedi is in a poor place to start the order from scratch.

Since his original crystal was from Ilum, that would be his first instinct. Usually getting there would be impossible, since doing so would require a Jedi Master using the Force to guide the ship, but since we do have a Navigator, he might be able to get us there. Alternatively, he (or the other Jedicicles) might have to try to remember any other places where crystals can be found...

What about the rest of you, what would you like to focus on in the near future?

Zippity doo da, zippity day!

I think this means I'll have to sink some serious XP into force powers even without the discount...

Xaramis' focus is on getting a lightsaber crystal. He's now conscious of his abilities, but also that against the threats he now faces he is uniquely inadequate for the task in comparison to the others. Thus he wants to get his hands on a crystal, so that he can start levelling the gap with the others, and anything that comes after them.

After seeing him trying to damage a soak 5 opponent with his pig-sticker, I understand where you're coming from :D

Tok's first priority would be the safety of his family. It would take a bit of convincing for him to do anything else first since he doesn't know anything about lightsabers and doesn't know your current ones aren't functioning correctly. If he hears a compelling argument as to why finding lightsaber crystals could make rescuing his family easier he'd be willing to make a short side trip.

As to finding crystals, maybe the datastick Micc'm slipped Tok had the coordinates for Ilum or other planets known for having them?

Well, until we know his family is in trouble...

Thinking of spending XP this way (mulling it over):

70 XP to spend.

Sense Basic 10XP

+ Control (upgrade incoming attack 1/round) 10XP

+ Duration (+1/round) 10XP

+ Strength (upgrade an additional time) 10XP

Reflect +1 10XP

Improved Reflect 15XP

Kellen is basically on the same page as Ren-do. Long term Kellen is interested in destroying the Sith, rebuilding the Jedi is an important "seconday" and prerequisite (to some degree) goal. So, contacting the Rebels at some point makes sense. He doesn't even know about the Rebel Alliance yet.

Short term, if Kellen knew of Tok's situation he'd put that as his top priority...and as has already been said, he's not much use without a real lightsaber and would better be able to help Tok. Though getting a real lightsaber crystal isn't something he'd put before helping Tok.

Well, until we know his family is in trouble...

Well, some other stuff has been happening between the time he decided to come clean and now...

I imagine there'll be some bit of IC discussion - potentially heated - when we recommence.

And Tok's NOT going to like the idea that an escape pod just happened to connect up with us while we were out and still in hyperspace unless I'm mistaken.

Once his family is safe, I can see Tok owing the group a debt of gratitude. Definitely enough to continue on with them.

Purchased:

Enhance Force Power @ 10XP

Control (Resilience) @ 5 XP

Control (Brawl) @ 5 XP

Control (Brawn) @ 10 XP

1 rank of Perception @ 10XP

banking 10XP for a total of 15XP in reserve.

Well surely the fact that an escape pod has connected means we have dropped out of hyperspace, for some reason.

Sonya will first examine the holocron remains to see if anything is salvageable for lightsabre construction, then question Tok about his family. He was shouting about them as her cryotube was activating... and she has other questions about things he has mentioned.

She is not really much for long range plans other than getting a crystal or two.

I'll spend my XP as described above, 5XP left in bank.

Anyone who doesn't already have one Force Power may purchase one now as a residual effect of the Mentor. Otherwise, the Mentor discount is no longer active

Oohs finally a decent roll for me!

These memories of maps look familiar : 2eA+2eP+1eB+2eD+1eC 2 successes, 1 advantage, 1 Triumph

Oh wow. So that's enough to say that you've discovered several systems that you don't remember seeing in the navicomputer on the freighter nor in the library database before you were frozen. You can remember them once you leave the Force vision

Nice! A Navigator finding uncharted planets makes me happy :)

That includes the Triumph result too I assume?

Do they have names I can drop IC? Or make a couple up? Or are these unnamed?

Yes. Possibly even some untapped kyber crystal deposits in one of those systems. Don't let me forget this result, so can brainstorm stuff for a future session

Also in regard to the question of looking for crystals, I found this exchange waaaaaaaaaaaaaaay back on page 50, while trying to find what I spent my first XP gains on. I don't know if you two remembered it, but I totally forgot this exchange happened.

I remember

Hey, I'm in that escape pod, and I don't like that idea.
