Weird question; what benefits could arise due to the return of a deity? I can imagine some of the good, and bad, things that might occur if the Emperor woke back up, regenerated, but let's skip Him on the Golden Throne. I've been around these forums for a long time, in my own mind, anyway, and every so often, someone throws up a "save Isha" thread, or something. Now, obviously I am considering something similar, or I wouldn't bother everyone with my prattling, but what benefit would there be, once one cleared the monstrous hurdle of "HOW would you save Isha? HOW would you weaken Slaanesh enough, directly, to break Asuryan, Vaul, Korunous, or the others out of her...hmm... let's go with 'gullet'?"

Say you DID manage to free one, or more, of the Edlar deities. I'm going to admit, right here, I've never fully even understood what type of beings they were, be they Old Ones, psychic constructs of the Eldar, just particularly old, and powerful Eldar, who have been deified, or what, but if one DID come back, I'm not sure they'd be able to DO much of anything, short of momentarily raise the Eldar people's morale. None of them seemed powerful enough to face Slaanesh, as a newborn, and I'm betting She Who Thirsts has only grown in strength, since. Isha wasn't strong enough to escape Nurgle, either, and no amount of time has persuaded the Eldar to bring back the fragments of Khaine, and have him reunite as a singular individual; even Cegorach, who has survived all this time, hasn't been able to do much.

I get that the Ruinous Powers are strong, and saving any Eldar deity would be tough, but could any of them actually DO anything for the Eldar people, were they to be freed? Right now, the fluff in the story of mine doesn't even know if what they are talking to really is Isha, or if it is merely a daemon. If it IS the real deal, is she still Isha, or has 10,000 years as Nurgle's prisoner, and taste-tester, ruined her forever? Is she now allied with the Plaguefather, and is this all a trap to do something horrible to the rest of the Eldar, from an angle they didn't even see coming (it's NOT Slaanesh!) This bit doesn't matter, yet, but, as I've babbled repeatedly, I'm not sure how the return of the Eldar gods could benefit their dwindling race, even if it was possible. Any ideas? For Isha, I thought she MIGHT increase birth rates of the fading Space Elves, but I'm not sure that would REALLY be an advantage. If it was somehow another one, I really don't know what they'd give/do.

Keep in mind that Slaanesh's birth was also the time when the Elder gods and goddesses were at their weakest; A huge chunk of their followers were killed and eaten by Slaanesh in an instant and considering that gods require belief to be given power that's going to be a crippling blow that Slaanesh took advantage of before they could get their **** together.

As for what Isha could do... Isha is one of the few beings in the Warhammer universe that is legitimately kind, even to races that aren't the Elder. While I have my suspicions that the Emperor might be a bit beyond her abilities to help (Ten thousand years of rot is kind of hard to heal even when your a god) I can think of another champion of the Imperium of Man that would be well within her powers to heal and start the process of unfucking the Empire as a whole... I'll give you a hint; He wears blue armor and he is currently in stasis.

Thing is, I'm not sure it would be much different now; the Eldar are still few, and though I'm not sure exactly how their breeding works (I had to make some stuff up), I assume more have died, in any given span, than been born, and Slaanesh has likely a fair share more followers than she did, at the time. Add to that many of the Eldar might just accept that Isha's gone, so even less energy, assuming they wouldn't see it as a trap. If Jesus came back tomorrow, I sometimes think he'd have to spend so much time trying to convince so many of the people that the Second Coming would probably be slightly less big than this years Super Bowl.

As for Guilliman, I'm glad you mentioned him. Granted, he might have a Primarch-sized stroke/seizure, same as the Emperor would, upon seeing everything that happened, since he was frozen, and I can see a number of, again, jaded people, believe his efforts to move back are just heresy, as Caesar tries to make his own (Third) Imperium. Granted, I hadn't thought of this. My stories get silly/strange, I admit, but despite the BS I work into them, comforted that no one else's day is affected by them, Guilliman waking up is NOT something I had thought of. Hmm....

Cegorach has been a pretty stand-up clown for the Harlequins, so I'm sure they could do something. Slaanesh would be able to curb stomp them, but not without leaving himself exposed to counter attack from the other Chaos Gods. She is the weakest of the four, and they love fighting amongst each other because no one likes anyone else.

Saving Vaul could be interesting if he could actually get to work repairing the Webway. I think he's only ever been mentioned as a weaponsmith, but being able to fix the corridors of the Warp would be a major boon to the Eldar. Morai-Heg might be able to increase the power of their Farseers to new levels.

I think rescuing Isha is the most interesting one because the main consequence is that Nurgle would get pissed and rates of Crotch-Rot would shoot up 1200% in a week alone.
