Is a unit with a Warp Lightning canon attach to it a skaven unit ?

The answer is no.

Traits on attachments cards do not carry over to the unit. The reason why an attachment card has a trait is so that you can do cool things with it using cards that will be released in future sets. (Fishing, trait targeting, etc)

I do not disagree with this, but how do we know that? I can not find anything in the rules that would support or oppose your ruling.

I'm guessing the question, is how do we know a unit (wthout scaven trait) card with a scaven atachment is not considered a scaven unit?

The awnser is: because the unit card has no skaven trait, and the support card dosn't say in it's effect text that it give attached unit sutch trait.

All that we know regarding this is that unit cards whith the skaven trait is considered a scaven unit, we don't really need any more support (as long as we are sure we havent missed something). There are an unending list of things the rules do not say that you cannot do, but that doesn't mean that you shuld do them. Please don't add rules to the game that isn't written in the rulebook (or at the cards). (It's bad. Like dividing with 0. You know... like the world exploding and imploding upon itself.)

I'm sure there will be attachment cards that give units traits, but in those cases it will say so at in their effect text that they do.
