This sounds awesome, looking forward to it.
Correlian Conflict
I've been dealing with a sick, wobbly, snotty horse all day and missed an Armada game I was looking forward to... It's still a pretty awesome day thanks to this! No jinxes, no jinxes, I'm thrilled to hear of them expanding in this fashion. I shall await more news with anticipation: thou shalt disregard any other momentary lapses where I squee, start to babble, or just stare on with starry eyed wonderment. Campaign expansions, new stuff, new cards, this is my jam.
Now, I only have 1,600-ish points in both of my current fleets without overloading everything on upgrades. It's merely a question of how to add another 400 points.
If anybody needs me, I'll be in the ER. Between this and the Rogue One behind the scenes footage, what I've got going on is going to last much longer than 6 hours.
Judging by the image of the playing field, we have a map of the Corellian sector , where the Corellian Trade Spine separates from the Corellian Run (links to Wookieepedia).
What I don't know is if that central area is the Corellian sector, or if it's the Corellian system. Does anybody have the Suns of Fortune supplement for Edge of Empire?
Bit late to the party, I saw this last night but I couldn't be bothered getting out of bed at 1am to check my supplement.
I think the centre area is the Corellian sector based off what I can discern from the photo we have (if only it was slightly better quality!). Firstly, the map is clearly based off the photo you've linked, which is used as the Corellian Sector map in the Suns of Fortune book. My main reasoning though is that in the supplement FFG discusses the Corellian System as being comprised of five key inhabited worlds (Corellia, Drall, Selonia. Talus, and Tralus), and mentions two uninhabited worlds (Crollia and Soronia). There's six in the photo we have, so either number doesn't match. Plus Talus and Tralus are double worlds (they share an orbit around Centrepoint Station), and are shown together in the Suns of Fortune artwork, and I can't make out a double world on the photo above.
Plus you'll notice the placement of the planets pretty neatly matches those of the Corellian Sector photo, so I feel that's been carried over.
My qualms against that, and in favour of it being the system, is the fact that the inhabited worlds of the Corellian system strike me as way more important than those shown in the sector map. Plus the box around the central zone suggests a 'zoomed-in' view.
Anyway hope that helps.
Love it. Can't wait for more info.
Need more money!

We shall name that one Slimer! I recon Slimer has a soft spot for your sacrifice right now, horses can be more loyal than puppies.
As for the missing 600 points you can spend 667 on squadrons. So you can probably play solo.
Edited by AmanalThis is EXACTLY the sort of product FFG should have been doing for AGES for X Wing. I am *super* pumped for this.
Yeah looks really good. Really well produced box set and everything.
I think it also adds weight to what others have said - Armada is a long term project with a LOT of great development streams going forward.

Heck! If FFG were to release an X-wing version of this I don't think I would have sold my stuff. I might even buy back in! I just got so bored of flying around in circles.
The worst of which had to be a game I played with my cousin. After dealing a lot of damage to each other, I had the Moldy Crow circling Vader who would focus evade every round so I couldn't get a hit. Meanwhile, he could not line up his arc! After a half hour of this he got me!
Hmmm. the future of this is uncertain
Perhaps they later may add a supplement Hoth or Endor Campaign to this.
Hmm...hm..hm..hm..hm.
Uhh, it just struck me... Maybe they will have Convoy battles for this
A single Star Destroyer have to fend off an Hit and Fade attack by a small Rebel force against an imperial convoy.

A single Star Destroyer have to fend off an Hit and Fade attack by a small Rebel force against an imperial convoy.
I would certainly like this. However, I'm girding myself for the possibility of disappointment.
The irony is that a friend of mine ( Marauder1983 ) and I were getting together yesterday to fanbrew a campaign system, using ideas of our own and from around the web. Then this news came up and took a lot of the wind out of our sails. We still have a pan of action, but... still...
and nothing forces you to play from the start to the end every time you use it. Just pick one battle from the list and fight it.

Nothing forces me to buy at least 2 of every ship either, but..

I was having some campaign ideas myself.
Where after each batte you could get resources from the planets you own etc.
Anyway here we go...
The Kiwi Rat Armada Campaign Rules
Each planet had 1-2 attack dice, worth of resoures, of different color (Red,Blue, Black and White*), depending on their location, Core, Mid Rim, Outer Rim.
Planets that are designated as a Secret Rebel base has only one Red attack dice as a a resource.
*White=Any color
With these resources you could build ships and Squadrons for a Fleet reserve, make Recon, Espionage, Diplomatic, Sabotage missions etc., Recover lost unique Ship, Squadron and Upgrade cards. etc, etc, etc.
A Hit grants you 10 Fleet Points
A Critical grants you 30 Fleet Points
A Accuracy grants you an Event card, which has a Mission or Recover function.
Event cards
Each side gather all their Resource Attack dice and roll them.
Each Accuracy you rolled you may spend on drawing an Event card.
The side with fewest event cards will decide which side goes first revealing an Event Card. If even, the Rebel side will decide.
Each side will then take turns revealing one event card one at a time.
You may forfeit revealing an event card, by laying one facedown instead.
A Sabotage mission event card can remove 1 or 2 Attack dice with a Hit or Crit.
A Smugler mission event card can steal one Attack die with a Hit or Crit, from the other side.
A Diplomatic mission event card enables you to draw a card from the top of the Unknown Planet stack, this planet is now on your side. The Rebel side may draw this card as face down, only revealing it for their own side, declaring it a as secret Rebel base.
A Recon mission event card can enable you, If you are Imperial player, you can randomly select one face down Secret Rebel base planet card and turn it face up. If you are Rebel player you draw a card from the top of the Unknown Planet stack and reveal it as a Neutral Planet. Neutral planets can only be turned to your side if you win a space battle 8-3 over them.
A Espionage mission event card can enable you to cancel the execution of a Sabotage or Diplomatic mission event card.
A Fighter Patrol mission event card can enable you to cancel the execution of a Recon or Smugler mission event card.
A Rescue Mission event card enables you to recover one Unique squadron title or Unique Character upgrade/commander card that was captured in this or previous rounds of space battles.
A Shipyard Recover event card can enable you recover one Unique Ship title that was destroyed in this or previous rounds of space battles.
A Bacta-tank Recover event card can enable you recover one Unique squadron title or one Unique Character upgrade/commander card that was injured in this or previous rounds of space battles.
Please note that this also opens up a lot of possiblities for side specific event cards etc.
Building a Reserve Fleet
After all event cards has been played and resolved, you can then gain the resource Fleet points from the Hits and Crits you have and spend them on ships, non-unique squadrons and non-unique upgrades to build up your reserve fleet.
Any un-spend Fleet points is lost.
Rebels can only buy a maximum of 12 of each of the following squadrons, A-wing, B-wing, X-wing and Y-wing, any other non-unique squadrons they can only get two of each.
Imperials can only buy a maximum of 12 of each of the following squadrons, Tie-Interceptor, Tie-Bomber and Tie-Advanced, any other non-unique squadrons accept Tie-Fighters they can only get two of each.
All non-unique upgrade cards must be assigned permanently to a ship in the fleet reserve, any upgrade cards that is left unassigned will be lost.
Fleet points can also be used to repair ships from the fleet reserve, that has one or more damage cards, they received in a previous played battle.
It cost 5 Fleet points to remove a facedown damage card
It cost 10 Fleet points to remove a face-up damage card
Fleet built restriction
When fighting one round of space battles, each side may use only one Unique Ship title in one battle, but may in two or more seperate battles use the same Unique squadron title or Unique Character upgrade/commander card.
However:
When a unique ship title is destroyed in a battle, it cannot be used in any following rounds of space battles, unless it has been recovered by the Shipyard recover event card.
When a Unique squadron title or Unique Character upgrade/commander card is lost in a battle, roll immidiately a Red attack die.
On a hit result, the card counts as injured and cannot be used in any following rounds of space battles, unless it has been recovered by the Bacta-Tank recover event card.
On a Critical result, the card counts as being killed in action and cannot be used for the remainder of the campaign.
On a Accuracy result, the card counts as being captured, if the owner lose the played battle, and cannot be used in any following rounds of space battles, unless it has been recovered by the Rescue Mission event card.
How to use your Reserve Fleet
Excited to see something of this type. Coop is so fun. Campaigns will really go well during big events too.
Are there any reliable information whether it is a co-op campaign or not? Some seem to refer to it as purely coop, while other claims it's played with two teams going against each other (with 1-3 players per team).
Also, are there any confirmation that the objectives are for "ordinary" competitive play?

From what information we have been given, it is NOT a co-op game. There are 2 sides and the campaign will be 2 teams of players competing against each other.
A cooperative game is one in which ALL of the players are working together against an AI embodied in the mechanics of the game.
You could probably make it quasi-cooperative by having 1 Imperial and 3 Rebel players or 3 Imperial and 1 Rebel, which makes it about as coop as IA.
Too bad Armada is dead after only one year and three months. I mean X-wing got their Campaign box after only..... Where is the X-Box set?
Too bad Armada is dead after only one year and three months.
When did this happen?
I think we are a better test subject as it were for the idea's in this boxed set.

Now the Rebels had the fleet that looked like it was thrown together at a flea market but the Imperial Fleet was almost always ISD's with support ships. So seeing box sets like this with new cards to support existing ships just makes way more sense to me. And the people who want us drowning in new ships don't seem to be thinking of the actual Star Wars Universe and are more thinking about keeping up with the Jones's.
Mind you I am still waiting to see when they will release the Arquitens-class light cruiser from the Rebels show, but that will be a medium ship fighting for the same spot as the Gladiator. (Maybe more armor and not the same torpedo ship with longer range heavy laser cannons.)

You mean a
Small
ship?
Because compared to that Interdictor Bridge Section its being Pancaked up against, its not too big, and we know the Interdictor itself is a Medium Ship
