New pictures of TIE Reaper and new shuttle

By melminiatures, in X-Wing

2 eyeball cockpits stuck together with a tunnel between. I can't see rear guns in the photo so the other guy is maybe a fleet officer/navigator/recon specialist/weapon engineer? Definitely "streamlined."

There is what looks like a turret below the front of the cockpit.

Missed that. So gunner is possible, but gunning on instruments only.

I may be in the minority here, but I really like the look of that shuttle

It reminds me of an F-117 Nighthawk. Actually, it reminds me even more of the Sea Shadow: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sea_Shadow_(IX-529)

The shuttle....

If it's a special imperial stealth shuttle that drops off special imperial stealth stormtroopers that's kinda neat, otherwise yeah it's not a lambda.

But IF it's a special imperial stealth shuttle that drops off special imperial stealth stormtroopers. Then yeah that's awesome.

I think the "Tie Reaper" needs exactly two more wings, on top.

I'm assuming the Death troopers have little (stylish) skulls on their caps. There are probably two of them wondering if they are the baddies.

Maybe the striker will be a tie without barrel roll? Boost instead ofc. Represents its high speed. It does have TIE in its name though so barrel roll is nearly implied. Unless it has a targeting suite it would be cool to get focus boost and evade on its action bar.

Going by the description, it's an imperial Death Shuttle, dropping off imperial Death troopers, probably led by imperial Death cmdr whoever.

Sounds like the Space Wolves...

Space wolf Wolf Claws led by Wolf Lord Canis Wolfborne riding a Thunderwolf and his wolf card terminators on board a Storm Wolf.

Does it look like the tie striker's wing's are hinged and thus can move?

Something weird that is bugging me about the design of the TIE Striker is how they have just sliced a TIE Fighter cockpit in two and added a cilinder between both sides... As you can see in the image, there are even details like the hatch that don't make any sense spread appart. How does that hatch open? You can even see the lines and the glass of the hatch broken and then continued in the other part of the ship...

To me that is LAZY design. They didn't take the time to adapt the design of the TIE to the new shape.

It does. I noticed this as well.

The shuttle looks like something that you'd find way in the back corners of the old "Essential Guide to Vehicles and Ships." Which I guess fits. I don't think it looks good, per se, but I wouldn't say it looks inappropriate for pre-EpIV Star Wars.

The TIE, however, bugs me. When i look at that pill-shaped fuselage, I don't think 'streamlined TIE Fighter,' I think 'tiny civilian submarine.'

Argh I hadn't noticed that, now it looks even worse.

The wings look like they fold up like suicide doors on a lambo.

It looks like there is a front and rear crew. So it would make sense to be applicable to "tail gunner".

Further, it looks like the middle section is bomb\munitions capable, which would make sense in Rogue One on planet\based attacks.

So my guess is going to be a TIE Bomber upgrade that is slightly faster with less munitions.

Just my 2 cents\observations.

(disclaimer: I AM KIDDING)

I feel it needs 3wings on top and a frontal lambda like cockpit. And two missile pods.

I kinda wish we could go back to a time where we could have new Star Wars ships that were not just a shadow of a classic Star Wars ship.

The truly new ships in The Force Awakens (The Eravana, the Resistance transport and the Assault Lander) all looked like flying boxes. Very boring. The last truly original ship from the Star Wars movies that looked great and fresh was the LAAT.

I would argue that the V-Wing and the V-19 Torrent were both original and awesome.

First Kylo Ren's derpy ride and now this new thing.

HOW DO THESE SHUTTLES KEEP GETTING MORE AWFUL?

The Lambda is the Platonic ideal of an Imperial Shuttle, so naturally everything else will be terrible by comparison.

and where is my canon E-Wing?!

I want a canon E-Wing so badly! But it would be weird to have one show up while the First Death Star is still under construction.

V-wings just an a-wing with sfoils whacked on, and the v-19 is just **** stupid and does not fit the aesthetic at all.

Do Star Wars shuttle designers have some sort of secret contest to see who can get the biggest/stupidest wings onto a production ship?

How do you think the K-Wing was designed?

The wings look like they fold up like suicide doors on a lambo.

Lamborghini's don't have suicide doors.

Just curious if anyone has any theories as to why the wings angle down on the TIE. I understand not wanting vertical wings on an atmospheric fighter, but why not straight out, horizontally?

Yeah, the Arc Hammer was initially designed as a new shuttle, before being switched over to Dark Trooper research and production.

finally got some competition from the ARC :P

I'm glad someone else said this.

Suicide doors open at the rear, gull wing doors are hinged on the roof, and so on.

Here is an informative wiki:

I'm hoping for them to do a TV show showcasing it as an experimental design post death star II

Neither does this TIE Striker. He's thinking Gull-wing doors.

Suicide doors open towards the back of the car.

Either way, the hinge is pretty awesome. Now I'm hoping that the TIE Strikers have flappy bird wings in the movie. (I don't actually hope that).
