New pictures of TIE Reaper and new shuttle

By melminiatures, in X-Wing

First Kylo Ren's derpy ride and now this new thing.

HOW DO THESE SHUTTLES KEEP GETTING MORE AWFUL?

I'm not a fan of the shuttle, or the TFA incarnation, but then I'm also not a fan of the Lambda design either. Took me a second to figure out which way was facing forward actually, which is never a good sign.

The Striker I rather like. Yes it's an iteration on the TIE theme again, but so is every ship in the Imperial fleet. I expect design uniformity from them. Rebels and Scum have all kinds of everything, mashed and retrofitted together. Imperials have the luxury of shipyards and mass production, so it makes sense that there'd be an overarching design ethos between all ships; if only for maintenance reasons, beyond aesthetics.

why mess with the classic.....

and where is my canon E-Wing?!

The shuttle looks a bit like the AT-AT barge, maybe that is what it is going to be?

TIE is cool but that shuttle is even dumber than the lambda. It seriously looks like a black lambda with extra long wings.

I like the shuttle a lot, it borrows s lot of design elements from modern stealth fighters in it's hard, irregular edges and black matte coating. I can see it used for confusing enemy sensors and possible seeming bigger than it is when it's in your targeting computer. Very cool toy for the Director.

What's with those new shuttles with absurdly long wings?

Yeah, these ships are "ugly," yet somehow this monstrosity is the Holy Grail for some of you people:

Don't underestimate the power of THE DARK SI- eh, nostalgia.

Seriously, the reason we took this in TIE Fighter was BECAUSE SHIELDS.

The wings on the shuttle bug me, but otherwise I'm okay with both of these. Of course, aside from personal tastes, any problem I could list for the wings would apply equally if to a lesser degree to the lambda. (What is the point of the folding wings, really?). It's a sci-fi/fantasy movie, though, so I try not to expect too many concessions to practicality.

That shuttle looks disgusting. Hope they don't release that for X-wing.

But barely, it seems that itbwoukd do so in case of high speed chases, for a short while.

Do Star Wars shuttle designers have some sort of secret contest to see who can get the biggest/stupidest wings onto a production ship?

This might sound odd... but the Striker sounds like a slower Fighter? The Fighter is capable of atmospheric flight, but is maybe too fast to be useful, hence the specialisation. Sort of like an Imperial version of the Harrier; capable of both CAP and ground target assault, as well as recon duties, but neither the fastest nor heavily armed craft in the fleet.

Wow that shuttle is ugly. It looks like the Spinal Tap guys got involved and turned its wings up to 11!

What's with the title? Is it a TIE Reaper, or a TIE Striker?

that depends on how close they to maturing into the Tie Phantom

the Reaper is the penultimate form

The shuttle having long wings is daft, but also the shuttle having any wings at all is daft. So if they need wings for reasons re don't understand who are we to judge if longer is better?

In terms of it's colour and texture it does seem stealthy which i do like. The long wings are going too far towards the "sleek" look of some of the cgi prequel stuff.

My main issue with the wings is that it makes it difficult to make the ship in X-wing.

It's much faster than the TIE Fighter.

It's much faster than the TIE Fighter.

In atmosphere it has a higher cruising speed, certainly. The TIE Fighter might have a better top acceleration in space though.

First ship (without Salvaged Astro) to have all the speed 3 greens?

The shuttle looks like it's supposed to be stealthy, given the coloring.

"Folding Bat-like Wings" That's not how bats fold their wings. Now I want a shuttle that folds its wings like a bat.

2 eyeball cockpits stuck together with a tunnel between. I can't see rear guns in the photo so the other guy is maybe a fleet officer/navigator/recon specialist/weapon engineer? Definitely "streamlined."

AT-ST

AT-AT

AT-ACT

AT-SAT next? I hope so.

There is what looks like a turret below the front of the cockpit.

I love the shuttle.

The real question is who is force-levitating the at-at?
