Covering Fire Command Card

Noob question here. The card states that I need to spend a surge to stun the opponent. That being said, I stun the opponent. From here on out, every trooper shot on that specific, stunned opponent, I will add 2 damage? Or do I need to spend a surge in order to inflict the 2 damage from the card? Seems less powerful for eStorm compared to the rStorm.

you still have to spend the surge. Its basically adding an ability to the troopers for a round

The card is very situational. Against a Bantha or a Vader it is devastating.

By the way: Rolling 2 Surges with an eStormtrooper against a stunned opponent means + 4 DMG.

It's great on rebel troopers that don't normally get +2 dmg surges. Or on regular version of troopers for a bit more ooph.

For elite storm troopers it's not really worth it.

Their maximum damage output is 5. With this card it becomes 6.

And really that's usually only for 2 of the 3 guys coz they have to actually stun first, which btw is not guaranteed either, an evade or high block roll can screw it up pretty easily.

It's probably more useful to just get three potential stun attacks against different targets. Or if you have lots of other things that apply stun in your list.

For pure damage output, only really worth it on Rebel Troopers.

It's hard to justify for 3 points.
