Fun Builds for T-65s

Biggs is a jerk, so use him.

I do like R5-P9 and Shield Upgrade with him, seeing he is big target why not making him a super jerk.

Your enemy should be reluctantly killing Biggs, whislt forlornly eyeing a greater prize. If you make Biggs 32pts then, hell, he's a great target suddenly, and the 'Biggs effect' is hardly even needed. Just my opinion.

unless hes naked its kinda hard to not make bigs ~30pts.

Xwings base price is pretty high.

it's actually the easiest thing ever

Since you are playing casualley I recommend Porky! He is fun and you can in-house the heavy handed take a damage for the use of his ability to ignore stress. Just say he losses an action if he flubs his roll.

FFG went overboard on the penalty... back in the day.

Jeff Wilder's Brace Yourself list is hilarious when it works:

Biggs

-R4-D6

-Integrated Astromech

Keyan Farlander

-Opportunist

-Proton Torpedo

-Extra Munitions

-Guidance Chips

Wes

R2-D2

Draw Their Fire

Integrated Astromech

West fires first, strips token. Keyan fires a five-die torpedo, spending his stress to modify it. You giggle.

The one that grants him an EPT then throw on VI so you can make use of his ability.

The Tarn Milson w/ R7 is comically durable. Nobody wants to shoot him because he messes with their attack dice so hes almost free to do whatever he wants, and Xwings being a 3die ship can lay on the pain if they are freely moving around.

LOVE Tarn with R7; my friend puts a Stealth Device on him and he's a pain to take down.

I fly the following in formation for as long as I can; you can drop the VI on Cracken to an Adapt for an initiative bid but like keeping it on Garven.

Garven Dreis (26)
R2-D6 (1)
Veteran Instincts (1)
Integrated Astromech (0)
"Hobbie" Klivian (25)
Targeting Astromech (2)
Integrated Astromech (0)
Tarn Mison (23)
R7 Astromech (2)
Integrated Astromech (0)
Airen Cracken (19)
Veteran Instincts (1)
Total: 100

Wedge with PTL, BB-8, and EU is surprisingly agile. I've also witnessed several ungodly combos with Wes recently.

Hobbie has a buddy in R3-A2.

This is just fun, and to me very reminiscent of the books and video games.

"Hobbie" Klivian (25)
R3-A2 (2)
Integrated Astromech (0)
Wedge Antilles (29)
Predator (3)
Ion Torpedoes (5)
BB-8 (2)
Integrated Astromech (0)
Wes Janson (29)
Adaptability (0)
R7-T1 (3)
Integrated Astromech (0)
Total: 98

I don't think he can hold it

Well if you blatantly cheat like I do all the dam-time here at Boss Central, he can at least ignore stress with the more reasonable penalty of only losing an action now and again.

Its whatever...just a fun list that I played last evening and enjoyed it. I miss my T-65s :'(

Hobbie - 25

Targeting Astro - 2

Integrated - 0

(Honestly, I built this whole list around the above ship. It's the most beautiful jank; it brings a tear to my eye. Hobbie just 4Ks all day, each time ending with a TL and a focus)

i.e. a bad Defender. :(

You mean a cheaper Defender. ;)

Eh, for 1 point more an X7 Delta loses 4 points of PS but gains a lot of maneuverability and an agility.

Dammit, this thread makes me want to break out my T-65s again, but I just got new toys to play with (Dash, Inq, Imp Vets)

Thinking of flying this at a tournament, but I might keep this one for casual and build either a Dash Rendar squad or an "Invincible Leebo" squad.

I don't own any IAs.

What is good from this, and what will get crushed?

I fielded this once and won by my opponent conceding victory to me after I destroyed his punisher (I managed to get out of arc and lured him onto an asteroid, then shot him with my small ships, destroying him) and almost killed one of his two royal guard pilots with Eaden's TPW. The sad part is that I never got to use autoblaster with my accuracy corrector!

One thing i do like about the xwing's current issue in the meta is i can pretty much run any build with'm and not feel like a jerk in casual lol. Flipside when i run a TIE focused list (swarm...even 5 is too many) it tends to be way too competitive since i actually know how to formation fly so i rarely lose shots.

Xwings are a lot harder to fly in formation though. The lack of a 1hard really, really REALLY bites for formation play. Often the 2hard would hit something or miss the shot and a 4K was blocked or bad idea. So i'd have to opt for the bump to make sure he doesnt get a freebie on me. I dislike bumping for that reason but gotta do what you gotta do (mainly dont like it because of the odd angles im left at)

well tbh its pretty easy to slap a random xwing into a lot of lists.

He's called Biggs. lol...

i kinda wish there was a way to "escort" ships like he does without him, even if its not as solid as "You must target ME!" - we have Draw Their Fire but it only works on crits and personally NOBODY EVER CRITS unless my DTF guy is too far lol. I'd like one to be the other way around, also then ships with low shields could actually take it. Other way around as in "Suffer one uncanceled hit"

I ran an epic game once with the Raider that had 4 Tie/Fo's with DTF floating around it. I literally never used that card because the raider never took a crit until my tie/fo's were dead/too far. ffs lol

If an enemy ship attacks another friendly ship while you could be targeted, you may suffer all uncancelled hits instead.

Yeah i know. I played armada before xwing and that was one complaint i had is theres no way to actually protect a ship except either Biggs or a MUCH deadlier ship to draw attention.

Quite a few ships that you simply dont want to target, but theyre usually not insanely strong either.

i would run Howlie with a couple TIE Adv quite often. She took quite a while to go down and did a lot of damage in return. Sadly in Xwing there isnt even a pseudo-escort available. Though if i bring something insane such as Vess/xD im sure Howlie wouldnt be shot at rofl (also would be redundant anyway)
