Was playing a game last night using Garm when this situation came up.

I had an MC30 that already had two command tokens (command value of 2) - Nav and Concentrate Fire.

My next order in the stack was Engineering.

What I wanted to do was to effectively Convert the engineering order into an Engineering Token and then swap it with the Concentrate Fire token - so I would still have a total of two command tokens.

Does the timing of using orders etc... allow this?

Wasn't sure if I can reveal an order, then "use" the concentrate fire token before converting the order into an engineering token, or if I had to resolve the command immediately - i.e. convert it to a token, but that would have created a situation where I had 3 command tokens on a command two ship.

You would have to chuck the concentrate fire token without using it.

It all resolves on revealing the dial, so no chance to use up any of those tokens on the ship already.

I assume this is the same for a flotilla with comms net having a nav token from last turn and revealing a concentrate fire dial.

It couldn't comms net away the nav token and then bank the concentrate fire token.

Comms is after you reveal the dial so you would choose to take a token or not, then you can use Comms. It is diffrent from Tantive IV because Tantive occurs when you gain a token.
