Both dmg decks legal

By ozmodon, in X-Wing

Now that both are legal witch one will you use and why?

Lots of generic pilots and few upgrades = original deck

Lots of unique pilots and many upgrades = new deck

General guidelines, but they'll serve you 90+% of the time. Simply pick the deck that has the fewest damaging crits to your playstyle.

There has never been a time when they weren't. There was a period where only the TFA deck was going to be in the future, but mass outcry against that combined with the logistical headache of updating the old core set caused FFG to reverse the ruling.

Edit: Well, the 2015 Worlds required the new deck, but that was just to highlight it's release.

That is still possible. I am surprised FFG hasn't been handing out more TFA damage decks at premier FFG tournaments. I'd expect nationals to be TFA only and all participants will have a TFA damage deck. Very less worlds will do the same thing they did last year.

The changeover is inevitable but when is a good question and I don't think even those at FFG know the answer to that..

Probably dependent on the penetration of TFA cores vs original core.

If ever of course, it is hardly important.

Though the best thing would be to produce new original core sets only with the new deck.

I like the choice between the two, and would hope they keep both options available and permitted.

I certainly agree on the point that the "core sets" should both contain the same damage deck going forward.

While the FA DD isn't exactly errata it's probably close enough that it should be the default DD one gets when they purchase a core set.

How hard would it be to just start putting the new damage deck in the old basic set? I mean, they must have had a new print run since then.

Unfortunately, ask Daredevil.

Now?

They've been legal for quite some time now.

I always use the new one cause it's more balanced and fun. I get that people don't wanna have to buy a new core set for the deck but I think the new one should be a requirement at least at premier vents since it's uppdated and balanced.

I don't see the logic of playing with an outdated and not really balanced deck but hey, if it gives u some advantage I guess people will take it.

Are you saying that the latest reprints of Daredevil does NOT include its current wording?
