Re-Docking the Phantom to the Ghost
Wow! What a fantastic idea!
Wait.... are you just responding to your own post to try and get your replies number up in order to get more people to take a look at this?
What! No way, That is preposterous! I just thought it was a good idea...
I'd reply, but it looks like you guys got this under control.
If it was to be done (and certainly could as a fun-sounding house rule) I always thought simplicity was best: if the Phantom ends its move overlapping the Ghost , it can re-dock. Done and done.
Hello,
I had an idea regarding re-docking the phantom to the ghost in the X-Wing Miniatures game that I believe could really add an exciting element to the game and reward skilled maneuvering.
The phantom can re-dock to the ghost if the following conditions are met:
1) The phantom is withing range 1 of the ghost
2) No part of the phantom base lies outside of the auxiliary firing arc of the ghost
3) The primary firing arc of the phantom completely lies within the auxiliary firing arc of the ghost (basically they have to be facing opposite directions
This would be a very tricky manuever to pull off and so would rarely be worth it, the phantom or ghost would need to make a perfect k-turn to be facing opposite directions. But at certain times, this could be very useful
Additionally if you wanted to make it more difficult you could make it be an action for the ghost (The k-turn would have to be peformed by a higher pilot skill phantom so the ghost isn't stressed.)
What do you think?

This thread made me LOL.
Seriously though, cool as it might be (and your rules for re-docking look not too bad), it would probably get used as much as the Scyk.
Cheers
Baaa
Just make re-docking very simple.
-Ghost must be within range 1 of the shuttle, shuttle must be in the ghosts rear arc
-Action: dock shuttle, ghost receives a stress token
is it actually feasible to redock in the middle of a dogfight?
queue gif from Rebels demonstrating the crew pulling off that exact stunt...
Edited by ficklegreendiceDocking onto a moving target in the middle of a firefight is dangerous. Do not try without plot armor.
There's no Pokemon here either, dammit!

This, and the Phantom must have performed a green move
I wanna hear more from the willykenobi character

Perfect.

Hi!
Sounds way too fiddly to bother with in 100 point dogfight play but could be very cool for missions.
(and yeah, both ships perform a green move and the last to move bumps would be a much better condition IMO - I'd rule it such that the Ghost always finishes its manoeuvre regardless of whether it's the one bumping, and neither ship can take actions if they're docking.)

I like all the suggestions to make it more simple that would probably work better
