Question about Sabacc

By sonsaku, in Star Wars: Edge of the Empire RPG

Hello everyone :)

Im running an edge game and i have a gambler PC, so i was reading the rules for sabacc and i dont quite understand them.

So i understand how to set the difficulty of the cool roll and how it changes depending on the force die but i dont understand what happens when the PC and npc both pass the roll?

Say PCA plays against NPC 1 and NPC 2 with a wager of 2000 credits. We all roll and after applying the force die we got the following results.

PCA, with 2 successes

NPC 1 with 1 success

NPC 2 with 3 success

i mean per the rules PC nobody looses but PCA and NPC 2 get extra money too.
And how many rolls would it take for a game of sabacc? The rules says that advantages can give you blue dices on the next hand but how many?
Thank you.

The one with the most successes wins.

A game of sabacc can, like a game of poker, just keep going and going until no one has any money left. Personally I'd make one roll per hand, if I really wanted to make a serious encounter of the game, and keep going until the PC or all the NPCs figured they'd had enough. If you just want to quickly simulate a game, roll once and see who wins, then get on with the story.

Thanks for the answer :)

I got a two player game and one of them is a gambler with gambling addiction as an obligation so i like to make sabacc a part of the game.

The adventure Elusive from No Disintegrations and Crisis in Cloud City both have sabacc as a major component.
