This kind of **** could only happen to me. I give a brief, congratulatory shout out for a successful regional season and somehow end up on the beef section three episodes running. If that was your idea of nice words for someone then feel free to reserve your compliments on the next show. Thank you for making such a huge deal of my clinically diagnosed dyslexia though I really appreciate it I'll be sure to buy you guys a beer at worlds for that. By the way, while we're on the topic of not remembering about people I like how you were unable to specify one single point I made during my 20 minute rant about dengaroo. It's cool though, I'm sure you pronounced my last name correctly the first time you read it.

Me listening to you guys talk about dengaroo and all the ways it gives a giant eff you to certain ships/lists remembering all the times I had lost to it in that exact manner had me like http://i.imgur.com/AdiBPrO.jpg.

I'm surprised you guys didn't bring up the match up against your precious "special" as I've seen it just completely crush it in the few times it's paired up.

Does Dengaroo push Whisper out of the meta? It seems just about tailor made to screw Whisper right to hell. If she has initiative, she can cloak, but even then, re-rolled dice due to Zuckuss are crummy, and 3 hits all the time seems like it would drop her sooner rather than later. Maybe she tries to sneak by and start hammering Manaroo?

If it makes you feel better, their Beef™ section was only 6 minutes long, which means they lost their beef. No time for gloating in 6 minutes!

seriously, guys, the h*

I've been trying to think of ways to incorporate Rec Spec and LW into my lists. I definitely think that Dengaroo shows the power of that combo. However, that guest you guys had several months back also wanted sensor jammer didn't he? As far as I can tell, we still don't have a platform that can add that and still be competitive.

Actually, I'd argue that Manaroo is the true strength of the build. Her ability is so powerful in support. I think in a few months we'll see that Dengaroo is just the first prominent build in a new archetype, with Manaroo/rec spec supporting a ship with lots of passive modifiers. I'm itching to try out a build that uses IG-88B instead of Dengar. He's more defensive and may be Dengar's equal offensively, depending on the build.

The huge difference here at least is that Dengar has a three or four dice attack out of arc, plus the painbot.

Blair Bunke for Galactic Emperor!

I think the real power is from the combo of a maneuverable and reasonably durable ship that can pass focus tokens from any where on the table to a ship that is loaded down with a bunch of powerful upgrades that are cheap because they have some built in limitations that has a turret and a dial that lets him reverse directions even when stressed.

Manaroo would still be solid in a lot of lists but it really needs Dengar being able to use Zuckuss to force all good green results to be re-rolled and Overclocked R4 give an unlimited number of focus tokens in a round. With Overclocked R4 and Manaroo, Dengar has a more powerful version of Poe's ability because every eyeball he rolls counts as a hit or crit.

With an IG-88, she's just a support ship with a better combined Jendon+Kyle ability. IG-88B is also only ever going to get a single attack (that hits) per round which means you are going to need Manaroo to engage more often than she has to with Dengar.

I will have a discussion with Dee. I'll say it publically, it's not our intent to bully or be D-bags and your criticism is heard. I personally apologize for any comments that went too far. We are in the business of playful rivalry and group discussion, not actually creating rifts in the community. We don't think we're any better than anyone else, so again, this appology is coming from me.

I'm new to the whole podcast thing (like a few weeks' worth), but this is how it came off to me, playful. Granted, if there is existing history, I get how it could be taken as being personally targeted.

I tend to jest a lot about/with people I like and I've been told it doesn't always feel as funny as intended... Here's to hoping this is the case here and everyone can adjust and get famously along :)

The problem with the whole "beef" thing is that people don't always enjoy playing along with things like this, so if you are going to keep doing it, you should probably check with the person or people you are pointing fingers at before you put them on blast in a jovial manner. And not only that, but whether it is a huge joke or not is difficult to tell to some, even if it is clear to others. Some may say "haha", but others may furrow their brows and ask themselves, "Wait, is there a real issue here? Because that seemed like a pretty personal and direct attack on that person."

I'm not saying anyone is intentionally being a bully, but if it can be perceived as bullying, it's probably not great to throw out your "issues" on a weekly podcast. Keep the "beef" to inanimate objects or at the very least informed animate ones.

Fwiw I know that the S&V team loves getting roasted by Mynock. We ain't thin skinned pirate scum ;)

Just want to add, that as a listener, I thought they were joking in good humor. I dont think they meant any disrespect and certainly didnt mean to poke fun of dyslexia. I think the mynocks only call you out because you are the only one who bothered to mention them in your last podcast.

That being said, you of course should not be made to feel upset about this and I think they should respect your wishes and not make you the target of their "beef" section in the future.

Beef section on all these different podcasts are getting old anyways. Have had to fast forward some of them.

Agreed. However, personally, I think it would've been more appropriate for blairbunke to message the Mynock hosts directly and sort it out with them privately instead of publicly shaming them.

Well, that's probably because they stopped running the special after the CA regionals were done. If you love it set it free and all that.

I agree, although, I think Agent Kallus and Palpatine would help with those Zuckuss rerolls in the meantime.

Agreed. Quick tongue-in-cheek comments are funny. Full dedicated sections of a podcast become tiresome.

Now about that Dash/Jan list. I've flown it a bit and it's a lot of fun. Great offense with Dash's hammer and Jan's scalpel, but its major weakness is definitely relative lack of survivability with only 15 health behind 2 agility. Here's the list I run:

Dash Rendar (36)

+ Outrider (5)

+ Heavy Laser Cannon (7)

+ Kanan Jarrus (3)

+ Push the Limit (3)

+ Anti-Pursuit Lasers (2)

Jan Ors (25)

+ Moldy Crow (3)

+ Twin laser Turret (6)

+ Engine Upgrade (4)

+ Kyle Katarn (3)

+ Predator (3)

May be worth revisiting with Vectored Thrusters on Jan and trading APL back to Engine on Dash...

I must add, on Ryan's proposed manaroo nerfs. I dont think they would do much.

1. Making zuckuss cost more. Even if zuckuss was 5 points, you could still run him, just drop the plasma torp on dengar and you would still have a 1 pt init bid!

2. Changing manaroos range to 1-2 to pass tokens. You could switch dengar to predator instead of lone wolf, and then you are bringing manaroo more into the fight instead of running all the time. This may end up being a viable option anyway.

Dengaroo is not OP. Peeps on vassal are already knowing how to focus fire kill dengar or block/kill manaroo.

I'm itching to try out a build that uses IG-88B instead of Dengar. He's more defensive and may be Dengar's equal offensively, depending on the build.

Aha I ain't mad my brothers, I just don't want to see Dee turn into the Skip Bayless of X-Wing.

I can totally understand why Dee was upset at me and wanted to call me out, cause really not remembering the name of someone you never met or even talked to really is basically the equivalent of calling their mother a *****. Then again I'm not a big time regional champion so maybe I don't expect that many people to know who I am :D. Seriously though when's the last time NOVA Squadron or Kessel Run gave you guys a shout out, I'd bet a ticket to Worlds them dudes don't know your names either why don't you go at them, give us some reprieve from the scathing vitriol that pours from Dee's hate-filled mouth.

P.S. Dee's actually a big softie in private he's just acting tough to put on a show for his listeners :D.
