Does the Bard use both song tokens each round?

By LiquidLogic, in Descent: Journeys in the Dark

I understand you can only put 1 song token per card each round, but does this mean I can use both tokens each round on different cards?

To quote the wiki:

"There are two song tokens: a melody song token and a harmony song token. During a game, these tokens are either near the Bard’s play area or on one of his Class cards. Each time an effect allows the Bard to place a song token, he takes either the melody or harmony song token from its current location and places it as indicated by the effect. Each token can be on only one Class card at a time."

It doesn't mention that you can have both tokens active on two different cards, although the concentration ability suggests that you can.

I have not had the Bard in play in my games yet (unfortunately) but I do know that this has been answered a couple of times and yes, you can use both song tokens in the same round, independantly.

Yes, you can even put them both on cards in the same turn. Even on the same card.

Wow, so I've been playing it all wrong.. I thought you had to spend 2 fatigue(ex. song of mending) to place a SINGLE song token on the card. No wonder I was running out of stamina so fast. I wish it were explicitly stated in the SoN rules somewhere.

Oh and is it true you only have to pay the fatigue cost once per mission until you switch to a different card?

You only have to pay the cost once per mission until you move the token to a different card but you have to pay for each token separately. So if you use Song of Mending and want to place both tokens it would cost 4 fatigue.

Yes exactly. You must pay the cost each time, but you can trigger it twice since it does not exhaust. But you can in your first turn burn 4 fatigue and place both song tokens on a card. And keep them there for the rest of the encounter without the need to spend the fatigue again.

Hello guys, since its a new post, I guess Im gonna share my doubt here:

When a bard goes KO'ed, and he has his song tokens allocated, and he get revived/stand up, will him keep the tokens on the cards or will they be removed, needing the bard to re-spend fatigue to allocate the tokens again? I'm following the same line of thinking as conditions. Just Couldn't find the answer anywhere.

Ty :)

This has been answered somewhere, although I do not have a source, but unless specifically noted, tokens are only discarded when called upon to be discarded.

Meaning that the tokens stay, even if you die, in the same manner Familiars stay on the map if you die, or the tokens of most classes stay, even if you die.

However, you obviously cannot take any actions relating to them, and they have no effect, since you are no longer up and running. But you don't need to re-spend fatigue.

AFAIK, of course.

It is actually in the Nerekhall expansion rule book on page 4:

"Song tokens remain on Class cards when the Bard is knocked out, but the tokens and any matching song effects are not active."
