I'm surprized that FFG used a poster for the sea layout. I thought foresure they were going to do a layout like Tides of Iron. It wopuld have been sweet and as the board has no boarders the sea and land could be changed around. But I guess to cut back on cost they went this route. Maybe next time.

Yeah, I'm kind of surprised it's a poster as well. I prefer the boards, partly because of ease of swapping them around, and also because they tend to lay flatter than a poster. How flat does the SoB board lay? I'm worried that at the creases, the figures will tip and fall...

Yes, I also thought it would have been better having modular boards. The paper is hard to keep flat and I would have preferred the ability to change things.

If the poster turns out to be an issue for me, I may just cut it into sections and then laminate them...

If the poster becomes an issue for me I will just make some 3D boards of the ocean side and the island side.
