This is ridiculous. A year of wait.

By Blail Blerg, in Star Wars: Armada

Adults realize that you can plan your car trip perfectly but it still takes a while to get from point A to point B and there's nothing to be done about it.

BS

Take a plane, build a straighter road, reduce traffic

Adults know better than to just bend over.

Look, you all have different opinions. Attacking each other over them is pointless. Live and let live.

Who said I enjoyed waiting?

I don't.

I just don't complain about it fruitlessly.

I disagree whole heartedly with "meta stabilized".

That is a statement of fact. It even comes with a "you cannot disagree" disclaimer.

That requires proof. Not anecdotes.

Where is your evidence, so that it can be accepted or disproved?

Addenum:

I am not disagreeing that you may be 'bored' with the iterations you see. That's a personal call, and a fair one.

I am disagreeing with the fact that everyone else should see it the same way.

You've also been particularly aggressive also. Attacking me.

I've offered you no injury or personal insult.

Do I want to be the same community as you? No.

<eyeroll>

Dude. Toughen up a bit. That's not even an attack.

How you thought saying that the meta was stabilized and was going to pass without notice is beyond me. Given all the threads about meta, counter meta, counter to the counter to the meta, anti-meta, meta meta and all, there's quite some fun variety out there that we all enjoy.

We're a really nice community. Sorry if you don't see that.

Locally I've been unable to grow the community, but I do think new product may get more interest in the game. But I've also been on an endless soup, salad, and overtime work schedule. So even if there was a community, I'd have to bow out of alot of stuff.

While I'm not upset at the delay for external reasons, I'm bummed I don't have new toys. I am sure there is more to play with, but I'm kinda with Blail when it comes to feeling stabilized with what we have.

But when you're your own opponent for 75% of your games, that'll happen. :D

If people are frustrated and want to complain, I don't understand why there is always a legion of self-righteous egomaniacs that think its their job to tell other people their feelings are invalid.

Its like all those PokemonGO haters that are all high and mighty about how they don't have time to play pokemon GO and then spend a bunch of time telling everyone that will listen to them how they don't have time to play pokemon.

Get over yourself.

Let people vent how they want to vent, if you don't need/want to vent, don't. What do you gain for attacking how someone feels? It's not like you are debating a statement of fact, it's not like the person will feel less frustrated because you spent a bunch of time typing out how stupid he is to be frustrated.

So quickly the thin facade of civilisation can wear....

The waves are fully spoiled...

The promise of wave 2 has turned to desolation.... even though every game I play or watch people play is still AWESOME!

The spectre of Nelson has been invoked...

Even the faithful are wailing in despair..

Surely this must be the end of armada!!!! Again!!!!

I think there is some merit to the "must get new waves" crowd to keep the game growing. In my local area, player group growth had practically ground to a halt by the time Regionals came around (at which NONE of the local players for that store showed up, only a dozen out of town fanatics like me from the Bay Area).

Miniatures games are dependent on new minis being available on a regular basis and frankly FFG screwed that up over the past several months. There may have been perfectly valid reasons, but I have absolutely no disagreements with those who were saying the game was dying, because it certainly was in my area.

Now things are looking much better, we'll have new products very soon, and hopefully we'll be getting news out of GenCon to stoke further excitement for the upcoming year. Armada is in it's best position looking towards the future since the release of Wave 1.

But if that momentum is not maintained, then Armada is dead. So is X-Wing, or Imperial Assault, or Descent, or Game of Thrones LCG, or Warhammer, or Magic the gathering, or anything else.

Yes it has been a long wait. Finally happy to see the new ships come in. Still want the Arquitens and Quasar in the game. :P

I can never understand gamers that don't stick with a game. Sure I have 4 games that I play but I play them when I can and Each has a small bit of focus. I dont get how players can lag in desire to play Armada. . . have they tried everything? Have they played everything? Tested everything? So many things to do, so many concepts to test. . .

In the end remember that each of us is different, so what you enjoy doesn't always equate to what someone else enjoys.

I played Flames of War and before that 40k for a long time. I enjoyed both games but after a time, even though I may not have done it all or played it all I just wasn't enjoying myself as much to the extent where I think I only played 8 games of Flames of War in 2014 which would have been a single tournament. As such I get the idea that change is good, more so because this game has as its engine a TCG style of list building and can suffer from the very same problems as Magic for example.

At the end of the day this is a game, I will play it for as long as I continue to have fun playing it.

Confession time: I play with myself. =P

Only way to get Armada games more than once every month.

Honestly though, its really not as exciting as seeing what build someone else has planned. Though lately again, I'm seeing test builds that have horrifying weaknesses.

And if you don't have players to play against, you don't get to test them.

I'm participating in this Vassal league. But I don't enjoy the games in the way I enjoy live games. It's hard to stay interested in games when you don't get to break out all your cool looking models and cards and game mats. And the best thing to bring in players to a miniatures fame is cool miniatures that people want to collect and play with.

That's not ridiculous. Chewbacca riding a giant squirrel and fighting Nazi's is.

Who painted this masterpiece? Was it Bob Ross? I bet it was Bob Ross.

Looks like there's going to be a new campaign expansion:

Interesting how they're going in a different direction with the game here...

It's concept art for the Han Solo movie.

A different and absolutely most welcome direction!

A wild Chewie appears!

There are not even close to enough Pokeballs for that guy.

Han did it, though....

What do you think his CP is?

We both don't enjoy vassal games as much as on a real table, so I can understand that aspect.

I draw people every week to play armada. I have such a small group that I have opened up mondays as well. Even though we have another store in Vancouver playing armada on Mondays, I did it so that people who cant go there and can't get games in friday have another option. So far that is working.

THe point of that is, maybe you have to adjust your thoughts to the group that you want to play.

IMHO that co-op campaign will probably draw in some new players.
