Love the color choices on the Nebs!
Lovely work!
Beautiful stuff there.
Thanks to Vykes and Salted Diamond for posting photos of their painted Nebulon-B2's - it helped me get a sense of what I could try to do with mine.
I blame Vykes for making me get one.
I'm all well and good for accepting some of the
credit
blame for Nebulon B2's; they're awesome ships and great models. You did it proud too! The greys have a very unified militaristic feel.
-laughs and smiles- I like the Ghost ties. Scary, I actually have someone asking me to do a very similar theme, just a little bit darker. They look good though. Nice control on getting the canopy struts The R&V just look great, and the orange stripe on the YT particularly is nice.
The custom ID's are particularly nice. I was thinking of adding names and cutting out custom titles some time ago but I could never quite find the right medium or the right work. But with so many extra 10's from so many spare Star Destroyers, I think I might try to at least make one or two new motifs for my flagships. Very cool idea, and maybe I'll see about reviving the name plaque ID's sometime in the future. Still, that's a really big boost to what I thought could be done
I joined that facebook thanks to ya, so again, thanks for bringing it to my attention And again, well done mate, very well done!
Edited by VykesThanks for the positive feedback, guys.
cynanbloodbane - they look pretty good next to star destroyers. Now I just need to get some games in where they're in an Imperial fleet.
Salted Diamond - Between your and a few others assault frigate Mk 1's, I had to get one myself. Halfway done painting it, but I got distracted working on some alternate freighters for when the flotillas come out.
Vykes - I really like the nameplate idea, I'll have to steal that for the ship titles I normally use. I've considered putting a ship name on an assault frigate Mk 1 or 2 or a Nebulon-B in Aurebesh in a ridiculously small font. But so far I've convinced myself it wouldn't look right.
Since the new waves are finally released, here's an Action VI Transport to add some variety to Rebel flotillas. I also picked up Mel's Mobquet Medium Transport to use as an alternate freighter, but I haven't had a chance to paint it yet.
Any suggestions for alternate ships for Gozanti flotillas? I couldn't come across anything that felt right for the Imperial Navy.

Could use this , the Imperial Star Galleon. "Essentially, the Star Galleon-class was a transport that could act as its own escort." Wookiepedia article
love the token idea and the alternative transport. and all beautifully done.
What about these for alternative Imp Flotillas?

Spectacular work. Slave 1 really looks perfectly worn and those TIE's are breathtaking.
NebulonB & Madaghmire - Thanks!
Salted Diamond - I hadn't thought of using a single Star Galleon, that could work pretty well.
cyanbloodbane - I picked up the Mobquet Medium Transport, which looks like that minus the spiky parts. If it paints up well, that would be a good one to grab too.
Think a republic frigate painted in Imperial grays could work too?
Mel's version is sized better for a small ship. Utar/Tsalt's version is scaled down, and would work as a Flotilla.

Here's an Assault Frigate Mk1 from tsalt's shapeways site. I'm still on the fence on whether I should keep/add/remove the lights along the darker hull. Not exactly happy with how the lighting ended up, but ran out of patience with it. Any advice or suggestions are welcome. And thanks to everyone who's posted shots of their own assault frigates, they really helped as a reference.
Here's a Marauder Corvette (Utar's design). I also wasn't happy with where it was going (over washed to darken up the main hull, never really recovered). Reached the point of not really knowing what to do next with it, so I decided this was good enough.
Here's a shot with custom tokens for each:
And here's a shot of some Scurrgs for a Cracken bomber list I'm trying out.
Awesome! Love that Marauder.
I love your paint scheme on Nym's ships (I'm too lazy to look up what their called)!
Dedmanzhand - Thanks! Tempted to get another from Mel's.
Felswrath - Thanks, I think their bomber rolls turned out a lot better since they were painted.
Here's Mel's Mobquet Medium Transport for a flotilla alternative. I painted it to match a Scurrg and YT-2400. Maybe a mercenary hire or paramilitary group (like from the old WEG sourcebook ) that's assisting the Rebel's efforts. Haven't decided whether to add some lighting to it yet. Looked pretty good in game without it.

Here's a WIP post. Trying some modifications for my next round of painted ships.
Here's a heavy turreted corvette. I used magnets to attach it, first time trying that out.
Here's a boosted comms medium transport. Might add a small antenna below as well. Also going to make a comms net transport out of the corvette's removed antenna.

Man, that Mobque in particular is just phenomenal. I love that slate/yellow combination colour scheme. The Marauder looks pretty good too, and now that I've seen a few I'm tempted... veeery very tempted.
The conversions are great too. I've done a turreted CR90 and they're definitely worth it. Fun, eh? Dual magnets, turret and body, or pin and magnet? Certainly fantastic for TRC90's, and if you're careful, you can always magnetize the old dishes as well. For that GR75... heh, astronomicon beacons, eh?
That is a great look for a command/comms ship, and why aren't GR 75's modded more? Man, I'm tempted to make some sensor masts in the front as well. They've got a lot of gribbly bits that look like they should work.
Seriously great stuff, mate.
Edited by VykesAck.... now I'm tempted to 3D print, magnetize, and use needle syringe tips for barrels for every single friggin ship in my collection.
In other words, I LOVE the turrets: turrets is one reason why I much prefer the Star Wars aesthetic to Star Trek (mysterious rows of glowing hot mystery emitters... just not nearly as cool as a big 'ole gun!)
Excellent use of old BFG parts!
Thanks a lot for the feedback!
I never leave spacedock without a three-eyed navigator:
The BFG parts are really nice for armada mods -- I bought a few ships off ebay when I was playing Rogue Trader a few years back. Haha it would be nice to find a source of parts that isn't out-of-print, so any suggestions on that front are welcome. I have the command bridge from a chaos cruiser, but can't find a ship it would look good on. Maybe an assault frigate.
The turret was magnet-to-magnet. They were absurdly small. I originally bought them to fix my Neb-B2 whose stem broke. They're working okay for that, but it spins pretty easily. Guess I should read up on magnet ship mounts more.
My goal's to get a medium transport modded for each of the fleet support upgrades, although I don't know how much I'll ever use Slicer Tools or Jamming Field.
Edited by CyborgNinjaNice work and great creativity. What did you use for the turret? Can you post a pic of the magnet system please?
Hey WGNF911, thanks!
The turret was leftover from a Battlefleet Gothic Imperial Cruiser .
Here are the magnets. I drilled out a space for the magnet in the turret, and the corvette's dish pops right out. I ended up having to fill the space back up a bit, only because the magnets were a little too small for the dish space.
