Actually there's defensive bonuses to ackbar. You only show one side to an opponent so you can easily shunt shields to where you expect to be hit.
Also it's easier to one shot small ships.

Hopefully that'll be enough anti squadron to chew through any A/X wings then the Rogues can help with the ships, plus less ££££ spent on plastic as it's all about the taking part right?

I would prefer Intel Agent to Tractor Beams, if you can spare the point.
Your group of squadrons works ok. There are "better" more powerful AA options, but your concerns about money, it works fine.
That list should work. Deploy the raider and all the tie fighters first, then evaluate where you stand.
Worst case the tie fighters have to spend the first turn hopping over to your carrier.

What would be the better AA squadrons for a single pack of Imp Squadrons... 2xTie Interceptors, 2xTie Advanced, Dengar and Flight Controllers? Then have Boba and bombers?

Yes, do Dengar instead of Bossk. You gain, Counter and Intel, both are quite useful. Another option is going down to a Jumpmaster.
I'd also try and work in Intel Officer, dumping tractor beams for instance.
