So what's the point of making painlinks!? There seems to be no benefit. Am I missing something?
Sindaeas secret....????
I clicked on this topic thinking Victoria's Secret. What a disappointment.
Notes from the encounter: Sindaea applies +2 to her Health per hero and can only suffer (damage) from attacks performed by heroes. Each time a hero performs an attack and Sindaea suffers (damage) in excess to that hero's painlink, the (damage) suffered is reduced to that hero's painlink instead.
So the idea is the higher you can get your painlink (per hero) the more damage that hero can do to her. For example if Grisban has a painlink of 2 then he can do 2 damage to Sindaea (and no more). But if he can get his painlink to 4 then he can do 4 damage to her when he attacks. I don't think there's a way to increase your painlink above 4.
You're going to have to be a bit clearer than that.
Let's say you have one painlink and you attack sindaea and you hit her 2 it would be reduced to your painlink of 1? Not to mention to get the painlink you have to take on its condition. I don't understand the point of it

Its fairly straightforward. The point of the encounter for the heroes is to defeat Sindaea. To accomplish this, they need to visit and end their turns on the 4 sites of suffering to increase their personal painlink. The link can be anywhere from 0-4, depending on how many sites they've visited.
Once a Crow Hag has defeated a hero, or the comb is found, a 'final showdown' occurs with the master Crow Hag. All heroes become locked in the chapel, and must duke it out with Sindaea without being able to recover hearts. Sindaea cannot suffer hearts by any means other than hero attacks. Note that this means familiars like the Reanimate, Wolf and Brightblaze are useless against Sindaea!
Furthermore, each hero cannot deal damage to Sindaea with their attacks in excess of their personal painlink.
This means a hero with no tokens on sites of suffering also cannot deal any damage to Sindaea! Furthermore, the most any hero can deal with a single attack is 4 damage, and that is only if they had previously ended their turn on all 4 sites of suffering and took the matching condition.
Hope that clarifies it for you.
