Encumbrance: When exactly do you lose your free maneuver?

By Blustar, in WFRP Rules Questions

The text says when you encumbrance equal to or greater than your strength rating but the example on the next page says: The PC will lose the maneuver at 25 encumbrance if the PC's Strength value is 4. How did they get this number?

The text can be a bit confusing.

I think its actually easier to just use these two formulas (the names are from the back of the character sheet):

Unencumbered Limit: 5 x Str + (1 / Fortune die associated with Strenght) + 5 if the character is Dwarf (Every point above this value adds 1 misfortune dice to every Strength, Toughness, and Agility check you make).

Encumbered Limit: 6 x Str + (1 / Fortune die associated with Strenght) + 5 if the character is Dwarf (If you get as high as this value and you lose your free maneouver).

In the example the PC has 4 Strength and 1 Fortune die associated with Strength (+1 for each die). This gives and Unenecumbered Limit of 21 (5 x 4 + 1 = 21)

"If a character is encumbered by an amount equal to or greater than his Strenght rating, he no longer earns a free maneouver".

That means if he carries 4 more (his Str) than what he needs to be encumbered (21), he loses his free maneuver. 21+4 = 25. (or rather just multiply Strenght with 6 instead of 5 as i did in the formulas above).
