If Manaroo passes a focus token does this trigger Overclocked?

Timing is fine as both occur during the combat phase. Manaroo card says assign a focus. Overclocked says spend a focus. The FAQ doesn't have any clarification for either card.

So can assign be considered the same as spend?

Looking in the rules reference,

SPEND

When a ship spends a token or other component, that component is removed from the ship and returned to the supply.

The token is not returned to the supply, so Manaroo cannot be spending it.

No, assigning a token is not the same as spending a token, so Overclocked Astromech would not trigger.
