My Imperials vs my mates Scum.
The Imperials had laid a trap for some pirates operating in one of their sectors. They let information slip of a lightly defended transport convoy travelling through a remote area of space, hoping that the scum would pounce. Little did the pirates realise that the convoy was heavily guarded, and it's cargo was a lethal quartet of TIE Interceptors!
I took the Gozanti and it started the game with four docked TIE Interceptors with Crackshot (two Royal Guard pilots and two Saber Squadron pilots), a demi squadron of Academy Pilots led by Howlrunner, a trio of TIE defenders utilising the new pilots and upgrades, and a Vader/Juno wingman pair.
The game was looking pretty even, but being able to dump four Interceptors into the fight AFTER all the other ships had moved proved pretty decisive, and enabled the Defenders on the right flank to really dominate. The Gozanti plowed into a nearly-full-health Misthunter and a Y-Wing before being demolished, and while my centre crumpled (assault missiles are pretty much a swarm hard-counter, lol!) my right flank held it's own, enabling my Defenders and Interceptors to split the enemy forces and decisively defeat them.
Take away thoughts: Deploying docked ships is awesome. Deploying four in one go is super-awesome.
TIE/D title is awesome. I got a lot of mileage from Marksmanship on those double-taps. There are a lot of cool builds I want to try with my Defenders now.
