First custom Victory Class Star Destroyer Night Hammer Command

By fistfulofforce, in Star Wars: Armada Painting and Modification

Going to add a few more to the line up but got this one done tonight. Back story is it was part of the Eighteenth Army under Admiral Tarkin. They were known as Night Hammer Command. Hope you enjoy.

Oh, ****! That is a beaut! When I get around to making my CG Victory class, I would love to texture on similar to your gorgeous work. :) Well done!

Thanks. I plan to do an ISD next and a Gladiator and I will update this thread.

So.... I'm new here, looking at all the pretty pretty pictures. 2 years later, inquiring minds want to know if you finished that ISD and Gladiator.

Yes I did.

I will post more pics. Did photo bucket finally free pictures?

Can you provide a basic how to guide on painting ships black please?

Yeah, seconded. Is that spray or brush? I've got a primer that is black, and then some brushes. LOL.

Yes I can. I will post more pics as soon as i get time.

I airbrush them. I do a gray primer usually dark ghost gray. I use an iwata eclipse. .3mm head. 20 psi pressure. After the primer dries I paint flat black over top of it. I then use a pointed tip paint brush to paint the white windows by hand. The gray panels i taped off with paint tape and sprayed gray. Everything you can get at hobby lobby.

If you have anything else specific feel free to ask.

Wait, is that an unbroken antenna on the Vic?! The paint job is spectacular, but the antenna is the most impressive thing here.

Here's a link to the star destroyer.

Yeah, I'm going to end up using a brush on mine.... hope to have it as clean looking. Biggest ship I'll have worked on yet. Think I might take your idea a step further and drybrush a blue/white mix around the windows to simulate that tv-esque glow, cause i imagine a flat screen in every room, hookers, d... wait, what was I going on about?

I recommend brushing with acrylic so you can wash it off if you dont like it. After you can seal it with some dullcoat.

The fact that your Vic still has its antenna is almost as amazing as that paint job! Looks very good.

Tell me about it. I've taken my Vic out maybe 4 times, and the last time, i noticed it was horribly bent. #almostastatistic
