Best specializations for small group play (3 or fewer PCs)

By Prometheus878, in Star Wars: Age of Rebellion RPG

Hello forumites!

I have a question. The Edge of the Empire main rulebook specifically calls out the Bounty Hunter: Gadgeteer, Explorer: Fringer and Smuggler: Scoundrel specializations as especially suited for small group play (3 PCs or lower), as these specs were designed to be flexible and fill most roles at least somewhat competently.

Does Age of Rebellion have specializations like this? Two or three specs that can cover most of the bases(at least to begin with)*?

*With the understanding that the GM is expected to tailor the game's challenges to party composition, for the most part.

Edit: Stupid divided forum. I'm going to have to ask this question two more times in the other SWRPG forums.

I think you'd do well with an Ace: Beast Rider, for piloting and outdoorsy stuff, a Diplomat: Analyst for social and knowledge skills, and a Soldier: Medic for combat, medicine, and filling any gaps with well-rounded

This of course entirely depends on type of game.... if your doing premade modules I would suggest something like:

Commander: Squadron leader

Focuses agi/pre. Good combat and social skills. great ship skills.

Soldier: Medic or Technician: Cybernetics

Focuses int/agi. Good combat and medicine/mechanics. great team buffs. Scale extremely well with exp

Combat character: hired gun: Marauder or bounty hunter: gadgeteer or solider: sharshooter or ace: gunner

Str/AGi then some secondary focus the group doesnt have like will or cunning

Best characteristics (for covering bases ) are AGI >= Int > Pre > ~ Cun / Bra > Will
Int > agi in a general game, agi > int in a combat game. Pre > anything in a mostly social game.
