By baterax, in Star Wars: Force and Destiny RPG

Ok so, streaming/video channel on Youtube, of me DMing my campaign for a few players.

Some concerns enter my mind:

- Can I use the FFG logo, Force And Destiny logo, and things like that (as long as I have that disclaimer "this is by no means affiliated with blablabla)? I want to have the logos because I want to HELP FFG games by basically doing free advertising.

- I'll run adventures on the channel. I know this is fine but I also want to do tutorials on the rules. Is this fine? Because it's kinda giving away what's IN the books, isn't it?

Now stepping outside of FFG and into the larger Star Wars thing:

- Can I use music and/or SFX from the films, TV series, animated features and whatever else? Blaster shots, creature sounds, droid noises, etc?

- Ships, characters from the saga, both canon and UE. Are they fair game?

This channel IS going to be monetized.

You can't use the logo but it's okay if the logo is seen such as from showing the books etc.

Essentially you can't give the impression that FFG is a sponsor or is affiliated with you in any way but showing their product is fine.

Be careful with how you use the logo. You can certainly show it and "use" it to clarify the product you are using, but you have to make sure you're not implying FFG sponsorship, ownership or support of your product (the video).

Basic tutorials about how the system works is probably fine, since it's just an explanation of the product. Just don't publish any actual content or rules details. So you can explain that a TIE fighter's high speed and handling make it a decent dogfighter, and use a TIE fighter in play, but I wouldn't post the actual stat blocks.

Music and sound effects are generally copyrighted content. You MIGHT be able to get away with a little limited use, but really if you want to be on the level, you should probably just contact Lucasfilm PR and see if they can hook you up with a licensing rep. If your intended product is low key enough while meeting their requirements and goals they'll likely hook you up. At the very least they can probably provide you with a sample disclaimer for you to run to help keep the overall show on up and up.

Discussion of characters ect, and use in your game are of course fair game, within similar limitations as above (they aren't yours, you're just using them, ect).
