After evaluation, we will not be adjusting #'s tonight. Instead, we will seek ways to expand seat offerings for a 4th Wave at a future date.

I don't know where folks are getting new twitter info. The last tweet I see from ffg was 9h ago.
Thanks. Good night and good luck to all in Wave4!!!!
Still, I'd really be interested to know if there have been people able to register for X-wing, Armada or Netrunner, or if the site crash counted people in although noone actually registered.
Also, if they are limited by space - I don't understand the point of this wave 4 if nearly all seats are already filled.
Anyone can confirm they got a spot tonight ?
indeed good night and thank you for the updates
They may as well set up a lottery system for the remaining seats. These continual site outages have not given me any comfort that it won't happen on the 4th Wave.
It sounds like a few lucky people did manage to get tickets tonight, the get tickets icon lighted up for me briefly but then the page just went white. So brutal having to go through this, I wish they'd just get it over with quick and painless instead of making me linger in anguish hoping against hope for a ticket!

That is the same thing that happened to me. I thought I was in...and then nothing. This has been super frustrating.
I heard wave 4 was on the boat....lol. Sorry just trying to lighten a disappointing night.... I had mine, clicked next and got white screen of death....wondering if they are working with Microsoft....hmmmm.
I was able to register for IA which is something. But these X-wing issues again this year are just absurd. Two years in a row not being able to register.
A lottery really does feel like the way to go if the tournament structure stays the way it is. Of course that gets into my gripes about the entire tournament structure which I feel could be a lot better, but that's another thread.
No, it should be an invitational event. We've got what, 350 seats available a day? Make it so only the top so many regional/national players, with a lottery for any seats who can't make it.
Time to bit the bullet to satisfy the demand. Take it down to Vegas in a mega convention hall even with a slight bump up in price. After all, November in Minnesota or November in Vegas?
I think they should open up for one game at a time. Don't make the X-wing crowd and the Netrunner crowd fight over the server.
Seems to make sense, no rush right now why not stagger them?
...
moar events?
I avoided the registration hassle by not bothering to sign up... I was too busy actually playing X-wing this Thursday with new Defenders to sign up. I win! ![]()
A lottery is a bit of a weird system. Outsource it to Ticketmaster, if they can handle Adele concerts, they should be able to handle a few thousand gamers.

this is only better if you want a $14.95 service fee on top of your $75 entry fee

Ah. Ticketmaster isn't nearly as ludicrously expensive in Europe. Last time I paid attention it was about €3,-
They should have a FFG-con in a gigantic area where they can have tourneys with 50,000+ players for every game. No need to limit registration!
I second that. Just add more days for the cuts. Maybe five day event, 18 points the first day, 36 points the second etc until they have the final day.
At least a higher registration limit and just calculate how many they can accomodate for say a five-day event, four qualifications and then the last day of playing the last cutoffs and final rounds.
There are convention and mess halls that cover that amount of people easily.

This should continue until we reach Wave 8.
But seriously, a pre-registration for a graduated top placement for Store Championships, Regionals, Nationals, and ptevious Worlds. Then the rest of us scrubs fight for the remaining seats.

This.
Worlds should be invite only. Regional Champions and Top8 of Nationals get invited, something like that.

I am aware of several top players that still don't have a ticket. How can it be called the X-Wing World Championship when some of the best get frozen out? ![]()
