The best solution, IMO, is for FFG to host more tournaments and more events around the world: more more more.

I think FFG should host the Regionals, officially. Maybe every competitive player won't be struggling to buy a ticket to Worlds if their area had a big Regionals to quench "the thirst" for premiere tournaments. Maybe then I could imagine myself attending.

I can't even think of spending THAT much money for airfare, hotel, etc. just to attend Worlds.

No it's not. Regionals used to be like Store Championships. That was a joke. But then they had the explosion in OP play, so they made what is currently known as Regionals.

And considering Store Champs are glorified locals, I don't see why they deserve a seat at Worlds. Unless you plan on completely excluding walk ups, which is a horrendous idea.

It is when the regional aren't spread out evenly. There should be at least one per state. Throw in a couple more for densely packed areas.

I am completely open to a States level. But even then, I'm sure Californians and Texans will tell you that not all states are created equal. Regionals should cover a slightly higher area.

Or a "World Series" where only teams from one country plays....

Don't forget that Regional Champions from the US and Canada already get reserved seats, but Regional Champions from other countries don't.

I disagree with the notion that Store Champions are glorified locals. When there are Regional Winners/Top 8 traveling and wining 2-6 store champions, then it has reached another level. Secondly, what is glorified local? Do locals not count? Are they not part of the FFG X-Wing tournament experience? Not everyone can make it to Regionals either by time/money/distance.

The idea is that there is a time period place holder that would allow the categories to make their reservation. Not all. I would bet a fair amount of Store Champions would also be in the Top 8 of Regionals. Most probably would not come...but should they have a place before scrubs like me?

The window of the top categories down would open first. When the last window closes then open invitation first come first serve.

Shouldn't be called a 'Worlds' event when Disney removed all organized play support for everything FFG Star Wars from regions it previously supported... IE... Russia and Asia.
