As far as spectating goes you will need to have purchased it to watch a game of it. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OEK_QvH9lsw someone did make a small little video showing the in game look. As far as playing goes it works very nicely.

Yes TTS version looks and plays Amazing. Best sim version of Armada yet

So out of curiosity, I have been hearing from Vassal players that Vassal is a better Armada sim. They say it is more user friendly, and has better support then TT. I wanted to get people's assessment of that statement. How do you feel the two compare?

I don't like how Vassal feels when I did try to use it. But I do know Vassal is supported very well by the community, and has several threads devoted to it. I'd guess it has more support TTS, but that's my opinion. You can download Vassal for free and play with it before deciding which one you want to use.
Vassel is more powerful, but much harder to learn. It is quick and efficient.
TTS is more visceral. It looks and feels like you are using real components, but games are less streamlined so they may take a bit longer.
If you want to knock out a quick game use Vassel, however you may find TTS to be a more satisfying experience.
Note that vassel cards have no text.

Thats weird, I just viewed it that day I posted it.
As for the Vassel and TTS debate, TTS is growing now and Vassel is much harder to learn and TTS isn't but the games take as long as a game would IRL which is nice that it wont be longer unless of course you play some who doesn't know the rules all to well.
Vassal cards are untexted for ip/copyright/whatever reasons. We don't want to infringe more than absolutely necessary.
Vassal isn't hard to learn. Click and drag. Right-click for menus.
After a few games you learn some key shortcuts, speeding play.
The current version let's you play at a good pace even when using just the chat - but Skype etc works even better of course.
Haven't had the opportunity to play TTS, but the visuals are appealing.
The Flaunted Legalities have stopped me from spending a single cent on Table Top Simulator.

If that's what I meant to say, that's what I meant to say. Because I'm having a bad day and don't really know myself anymore.

Sounds like you've been having a bad couple of weeks. Sorry your day sucks. ![]()

Using copyrighted images isn't fair use just because Vassal is free

Hate to break it to you, but as far as copyrights and trademarks go, that Vassal Mod "flouts" the law just as much as TTS.

Doesn't mean I play on Vassal, either.

Really no difference legally. Both work so long as FfG doesn't send the C&D

Heh. Fair enough

But if I just want to poke around with some ideas or flip through a new wave TTS is great. If only he would fix the terrible AF model.
Ok, so stupid qestion. How do I start this mod? I bought TTS but can't see any "add" or "download" button in workshop:

I can't find tutorial or anything. Some help or link will be appreciated...
EDIT: Ok, found it. Does anyone want to play? Where I can find players?

It does. Copyright rules are quite relaxed, something like 20% graphical change is required.
Using trademarks is more volitile. Vassal doesnt, TTS does. Space rocks did.

Just making minor changes doesn't cut it. I work with IP every day (software). I was in regular contact with an IP lawyer when launching a new product.
FFG could send a C&D any day. It is completely up to them.
I think you are confusing trademark dilution with copyright infringement.
And Vassal infringes on trademarks, too.
FFG doesn't seem to mind right now, so it's not a big deal.
Edited by SoonerTedNot that I have any say, but I would prefer for Vassel to go the other way around and forgo the card art to keep the text. Losing the text impacts playability to much.

Or you could use one of the texted mods floating around.
