I logged on was able to catch Charmander as my starting pokemon then it lagged out when I was selecting a username and I haven't been able to play since :'(

It's been laggy since everyone is downloading it and starting up. It should settle down after awhile.

Niantic is using the same service that they do for Ingress. I don't think they expected this level of players though.

I love Pokemon. But Go consumes too much bandwith data, too much battery and it isn't satisfying in the end. Only Gen 1 Pokes and you can't really do anything with them...

I have banned my children from using it.

Yeah, It's probably best to use it on familiy walks or on the kids route to school. Just because Ash went traipsing around the countryside on his own doesn't mean real kids should do that.
