Engine Techs

I am sure this has been answered but I could not find it.

With Engine Techs say I do a movement command and cash the token does that count towards the Activation of the Engine Techs?

If then that I have that token cashed on my ship and I decide I need that extra movement can I then use that token but not adjust my speed or anything and still use Engine Techs?

Using a navigation command, dial or token, is required to use engine tech. You do not need to change speed or yaw with the nav command if you do not want.

Cashing a nav dial into a token does not count as using a nav command. Subsequently you can use the token though.

Yep as gink said, cashing the nav token doesn't count as a nav command and therefore doesn't activate ET. But you can use a nav token to activate it if you spend the token
