I'm driving my wife crazy with that epic. Every night my list changes after spending an hour fiddling. I even switched factions again... I'm probably more concerned with the epic than the standard tournament.

I expect we'll see the tops of the three pillars of X-Wing: Dengaroo (Turret), Palp Aces (Arc Dodger), and Crack Swarm (Jouster). Triple Scouts (straddling the Turret and Jouster line) are also going to be there.

I'd also expect Dash/Ghosts as well.

Based on the fact that the top players that are able to make it out to tournaments like this make it out to multiple, and usually run the same or similar lists for the entirety of the tournament season, think it's pretty safe to assume results will at least be similar. Maybe a Defender list takes the Rebel spot though.

The Epic "Tournament" at Origins...there were only four people (two of them signed up literally an hour before the event) and they only ran one round. So who knows, it's a total wild card.

Gencon should be even worse, since it looks like the Epic Tournament will be in the same time slot as the cut for both X-Wing and Armada. Not to mention, for those who play an entire day (or two) of X-Wing and don't make the cut... are they going to want to come back Saturday and play an entire day of X-Wing again, this time with 300pts on the board and 2 hour rounds?

I mean, is this a surprise? I have always been under the impression that epic doesn't see much tourney play for this reason exactly. Just not a large enough interest in it.

Well, then in theory GenCon should be 4x as many... In theory. 16 tickets sold. Factor in no shows and last minute arrivals... Say a dozen conservatively? Betcha scum wins it.

And I'm one of those gamer types that can spend a day getting blown up and come back day two for more. I used to work GenCon for 32 hours at the Battletech tables and on my off time play more of it. Yep. I can play the attrition game.

But yeah... Hopefully FFG continues to support it. Need to offer it to grow it.

Team epic is on Sunday. It's pretty clear as far as scheduling goes. Again half sold with 48 remaining tickets. It goes beyond scheduling conflicts with standard format. It's just as likely the format intimidates players for some yet to be known reason.

Edit: The acrylic looked really good, too. FFG recently changed it's acrylic manufacturing process (presumably), which is why the Conner Net acrylics at Origins looked so different from the "classic" acrylics of the past three years. Whereas the classic acrylic is thick with a relief of the token detail in white (giving texture), the new Conner Nets were basically just flat acrylic with a screen printed copy of the conner net art on the token (so it looked exactly like the cardboard token, was just thicker and heavier). The epic movement tools and energy tokens were at least the 'classic' nice textured tokens of yore.

I like the classic and excited if they have the same prize support. When finding out that there was prize support at the Regionals in Tacoma, WA (ETX) over 7 people publicly stated they wish they had played Epic too. I think it just takes a little time to grow. Patience and keep up the support FFG!!!

I also think in the future with a S&V Huge ship and a requirement for Huge ship I think more "dedicated" EPIC players would participate. I hope.

I would have figured FCS as the system to get that target lock free. That said, I can see why you did the auto correcter
