Mathwingers question!

Given the new FAQ, which is the better combo on a titled ghost with phantom docked

TLT. With fire control system or TLT with accuracy corrector.

I know primary weapon plus tlt makes the fcs superior but for all this out of arc dodging goodeness can ac be ignored?

Depends on the target.

Then there is the choice of when FCS/TL is in effect. With the new FAQ you have to resolve both the TLT attack rolls before you can acquire the TL from FCS. This means you cannot use a TL on both attacks. Accuracy Corrector will make the TLT chew through anything with 0-1 Agility. It becomes more effective than Autoblaster Turret in that situation. Against Agility 2 ships the AC is better than TL. Against anything with Autothrusters and Agility 3 its worse because it is harder to hit the 3 hits required to punch through.

TLT is broken, a light laser that is ineffective against heavier ships and designed to deter fighters in the lore is a beast at killing low agility ships, redundant against fighters with autothrusters and does more effective damage than a heavy laser cannon.

I think the Autoblaster Turret is what you are looking for in an anti-starfighter weapon. The TLT wasn't necessarily designed for anti-starfighter action and calling it broken because AT works against it is silly.

The TLT itself isn't broken, in a vacuum.

4 of them is.

Yeah, depends quite a bit on the target and the game state. There are ships that are very unlikely to be hit by 2 [boom] results, so if you're shooting at (say) an x7 Defender or Fel with Stealth + Autothrusters, you want FCS. If you're facing something with 0-1 Agility, obviously Accuracy Corrector represents guaranteed damage.

"Thematically Broken"

It isn't what it is in the story. Its a light laser, ineffective against heavier shields and armour, its the same weapon mounted on the back of the Lambda, its purpose is give top cover to the K-wing which has a quad-laser turret chin mounted to attack ground targets, the YT series has a the same laser default in its turrets.

What we got is something that cuts low agility high toughness targets to shreds, shoots 360, makes the quad-laser on the K-wing obsolete, and most every other turret weapon type obsolete. Consider that chewie in the Millennium Falcon with its 2x Quad-Laser cannon turrets often does less damage than a single TLT does at range 2-3. Compare a Decimator vs 2 TLT Y-wing. Utterly stupid if you wanted to try play out any story before you even get to game balance for competitive play.

Something had to deal with PWT-era.

it did.

I think I may go title and fcs as the whole 5 dice out the arse may catch some people by suprise (I'm thinking doughnut hole coverage lol)

Failing that I do have autoblaster and ac to replace it with
