Triple T-70 X-Wing build

By Radar159, in X-Wing Squad Lists

To start off, I don't have Autothrusters, and I know that is a common for T-70 builds. So here is my List.

Poe Dameron w/ R5-P9 + Predator - 37

Ello Asty w/ R2 Astromech + Veteran Instincts - 32

Blue Ace w/ R2-D6 + Predator - 31

Let me know what you think

Poe is king at ace hunting...if he has VI. Ello is ok but very situational. I would remove predator from poe and add VI and Weapon Guidance. It's almost the same thing but you may not kick R5-P9 all the time....

PS11 Vader is king of ace hunting, sir.

Poe is durable, but there's only one king.

What if you played:

Poe- R5P9 and adaptability

Red Ace- R2D6, comms Relay, and juke

Red Vet- BB8 and PTL

My buddy plays this casually. I don't know how it would do competitivly I have no idea. You can throw on IA as well.

I agree that Poe basically needs VI for now. Ello doesn't really need R2, as he won't be stressed much with those white talons. Also, don't forget to integrate your astromechs (if you have 3)

I would possibly run this, it won't hit as hard long term, but it will frustrate almost every opponent with double regen.

T-70 X-Wing: •Poe Dameron (35)

Integrated Astromech (0)

Veteran Instincts (1)

•R5-P9 (3)

T-70 X-Wing: •Ello Asty (35)

Integrated Astromech (0)

Veteran Instincts (1)

•R2-D2 (4)

T-70 X-Wing: Red Squadron Veteran (29)

Integrated Astromech (0)

Crack Shot (1)

Targeting Astromech (2)

Total: 99/100

Do they all have to be T-70s? If not, you can run these three guys:

Poe Dameron (31)
Veteran Instincts (1)
R5-P9 (3)
Weapons Guidance (2)
Integrated Astromech (0)
"Red Ace" (29)
R2-D2 (4)
Comm Relay (3)
Integrated Astromech (0)
Biggs Darklighter (25)
R4-D6 (1)
Integrated Astromech (0)
Total: 99
They're DurabiliBuddies

In my opinion, on Poe autothrusters > integrated astromech, by a long shot. Save one shot, or save many?

Sorry, missed the bit where you said you didn't have it. My mistake :)

Personally a big fan of Ello Asty with VI and BB-8, but he needs a good initiative bid to get a chance at ace duty which is why people just say to go with VI Poe.

Predator Poe is a good hitter with a good chance at keeping that focus to regen with R5-P9. That said though, predator is also 2 more points than VI and T-70s aren't cheap so you want to save points where you can...

Red Ace is another big spender if you do the full load out with R2-D2 and Comm Relay (add shield upgrade if you think you'll get to regen a lot).

These three are popular but each cost too much to put together in a 3xT-70 list so you'd have to cut some bits out. Maybe something like:

(34pt) Poe Dameron w/ Adaptability, R5-P9, & Integrated Astro

(33pt) Ello Asty w/ VI, BB-8, & Integrated Astro

(33pt) Red Ace w/ R2-D2 & Integrated Astro

On the other hand you could trade one of these for a cheaper Red Squad Veteran and then keep the full goodies on the other two :)

Unless you're going to a store championship regionals nationals or worlds event, there should be no Shane in proxying auto thrusters

Makes an absolute world of difference on Poe

Slightly less useful on asty but still useful. Rule of thumb is that the high PS t70s can manuever well enough to abuse it the lower PS ones are just generally better off with integrated

Thanks for the tips guys, I appreciate it!

I plan to take

Poe with R5-P9, Predator, and auto thrusters

Ello with BB-8, PTL, and auto thrusters

Blue Squadron

All for 100 points, let me know what you think

In the current meta, regenerating aces don't really shine. I suggest a more brute force approach.

Red Squadron Veteran (x3)

- Crack shot

- R2 Astromech

- Integrated astromech

Prototype Pilot

- Chardaan refit

It gives you resilience, good firepower and a cheap blocker at the expense of PS (but with all those palp aces out there, blocking is preferable to repositioning anyway).

I am not saying it is a tournament winning list, but it should be reasonably effective against most popular builds.
