I'll be honest, I'm completely new to the game, and I've been reading some guides all day, so this is my first attempt at a list. I probably missed some pretty basic things.

I also really have no idea what to do with squadrons in this list, other than attempt to have TIEs tie up while IG-88 goes hunting.

It is a cute list.

A few things though.

First, Overload Pulse won't work the way you might consider. It will go off after the first attack sure but you will need a second attack from Avenger to capitalize on it.

Maybe consider it on the Interdictor instead?

Next, that is a lot of TIE Fighters. I know from our chat on Facebook (this is Damion btw) that you are still getting used to this so a bit of warning. TIE Fighters drop fast. You will need a bit of cunning and a lot of work keeping them out of the range of ships. That will take a lot of planning. Squadrons are one of the more difficult things to learn in this game. Movement is the most difficult since you have to be as flexible as the movement tool itself in your line of thoughts.

The list is fine though you won't be able to practice with it just yet since the Intel and Gozanti should be out in the next few months.

Oh! For a list builder, I like [ulr=http://armadawarlords.hivelabs.solutions]Armada Warlords[/url]. Nevetz has done a fantastic job with it and it has all the cards and what sets they come from.

The Gozanti and Interdictor are not being sold yet. You could proxy them, but I think it is just going to make learning a little harder.

Beyond that the way many of us learned, we bought the core set. It had a Victory vs a Nebulon and Corvette. Then maybe building in cards and try 200 v 200 on a 3x3' board, for which you may need a second Corvette or Victory. Then once you are comfortable you have the rules down hit up a few 300 points games on a 3x6' table. Probably wouldn't take more than 2-6 games and you'll get the urge to play at 400.

If your opponent knows the rules and how to build stuff slowly ramping up will give you more manageable stepping stones as to learn from.

Ah ok, good to know about Overload Pulse. I think I knew that when I played before, but I must have forgotten.

I know TIEs drop fast, but I wasn't sure quite what to do with squadrons in the list. I was afraid of too few squadrons leaving me too open to bomber attacks, though I guess I could go with a few named squadrons.

And yeah, I know I can't build it yet(I'm also missing various upgrades, for what it's worth), just messing around with the list for the contest.

Redid the list with a couple changes in Warlords:

That is how I go about it as well. The game has a lot of depth to it but it can be daunting to learn so take it in small chunks ^_^

But but but it all looks so fun :D

I've had a couple games, so I'm familiar with the rules. The main issue I've had is that I've never really made a list(they were all done off items in the core set) and I played awhile ago, so everything is new to me.

Your new list is illegal. You can't have 2 Darth Vader's. The little circle next to a name means it is unique and so only 1 card with that name per list.

I would recommend sticking with the Raider and Gladiator instead of the Gozanti and Interdictor. This is just until they come out.

Dont worry about the learning curve too much. Take it one step at a time and you will get the game. Once you have the basics, people will throw you into bigger games ^_^

Are you from Portland?

Whoops, you are correct!

And yes, I'm just down in Tualatin.

I would put the Suppressor upgrade on the Gozanti. It can have a similar effect to overload pulse when used with Avenger and doesn't need you to activate the ships in a certain order. Use suppressor to exhaust the brace on a large ship (except a liberty of course) then Avenger blasts it and ECM wont make any difference.

Either drop Vader as the admiral possibly for Constantine which means you could get away with ditching a Tractor beam for a few extra TIEs.

Or drop Vader squadron for a standard tie Advanced to protect Dengar.

If you keep Vader as the admiral you can drop SW7s as you can just use Vader's rerolls to roll the blue dice again.
