=THE NEXT ARMADA EVENT ON VASSAL= ROUND TWO... FIGHT!!!

By doobleg, in Star Wars: Armada

Skycake vs Ginkapo ends 9-1 294 MOV in Ginks favour (440 to 146)

We played contested outpost and the result is a tad unfair. Admo survived being hit by Luke three times, Nym twice, Scurrg twice, Dutch, Wedge, Hwk290, an Xwing, two shots from Yav to still be standing at the end of the turn to one shot Yav on the next. All with Bomber Command Centre.

It was unreal.

Tycho held a single xwing, which turned out to be crucial.

And that was crucial, as everything crumbled. Admo had already one shot one corvette. Lando then killed the two flotillas, one by shooting the other by ramming finishing Admo's excellent work, before Jaina took out Dodonna and just stayed on the table afterwards.

3 contested tokens to Skycake, 2 to Ginkapo.

Roquax v PartyPotato

Roquax wins 6-4 MOV=63pts

What were the raw scores? Also, what mission did you play, and who was first player? :)

Okay! Few updates:

- Onca has graciously conceded his round two match to Gowtah, due to a lack of availability during the round. He will still be taking part in the coming rounds. :)

- Irokenics has had to withdraw from the tournament. :( As such, I've awarded the win to godofcheese.

- I have awarded NebulonB the win against Khaymann, as the latter player has not responded to recent messages from Neb or myself. If i don't hear from Khaymann by the end of the round, I'll be removing him from the tournament (hopefully he'll check in before then).

- WGNF911 emailed the results of his match to me, and I've updated the scores on OP to reflect this.

We've still a few games outstanding:

Deadshane vs Miedomeda

(to be played Wednesday)

Viperous vs Hartleys276

Sanguinary Dan vs TrenchRunner

Lord Dorn vs Malucca

If I've missed the results of those games on the forum, or if you're unlikely to play your game prior to Thursday 0001 GMT, please let me know.

Cheers, guys!

Aresius was second player and I picked Hyperspace Assault. The first time I was first player in this mission and the first time I could see how the second player actually benefits from it. Well played, Aresius!

I look forward to seeing this vlog. It seems to be often considered one of the weakest objectives, but while I use HA myself and know how I use it, it will be really interesting to see someone else's success with it.

thanks!

I use HA myself, all the time. I use it with my MC30's, either to force early activations into my traps, fork two targets with double arcs, or both. It's also the only way other than AG to reliably double-side-arc anything.

The dice were angry that day my friends... like an old man trying to send back soup at a deli!!

Fun game though... admonition continues to be my bane as of late

Close game and came down to a nail biter ending. Last dice roll of the game my MC80 has 4 hull and 1 shield left and no brace. Roquax ISD had 4 red dice to score 5 hits. Odds were in my favor but Lady Luck was not. Down she went. Kaboom. My 200 pt MC80 blown to smithereans. Stellar maneuvering with Demo doing tremendous damage early in the game. Fun game.

Played fleet ambush and Roquax had first turn. Ending points was 212 vs 275 for MOV of 63.

Last game of second round ends as a 8 - 2 in favor of Deadshane. We didn't calculate MOV, story as follows.

We first played last wednesday through round 1 & 2 and had to stop as it was getting very late for me. Same tonight, we barely played round 3 but a bunch of vassal bugs and other issues we had slowed us down a lot, again it was getting very late for me, so I proposed Deadshane an 8-2 win in his favour, as the loss of my jumpmasters and the consequent pinning of my rhymerball made things uneasy for me. The game however remains to be played, and we agreed to finish it at a convenient time. It's just that time is not now.

So i guess, 8-2, 130 mov for deadshane. Or, I dunno. It's very sad to post the results of a game I didn't actually get to fully play. <_<

Verified.

If this has to be a 5-5 draw due to not finishing, I'm ok with that, little disappointed but ok nontheless. I had a major advantage in locking down and doing really good damage to rhymerball with Farr's A wings, but I understand if tourney has to rule us a draw. Only one ship died, one of Miedomeda's Gozantii, and my positioning was perfect going into turn 4.

I was wanting to play it out but miedomeda had to leave. I agreed to a 8-2 victory and felt it appropriate, maybe even a bit generous. (On his part, that is)

As you both came to an agreement over the result, I'm happy to accept 8-2 with 130 mov.

I'll be sorting out the round two results and standings at work, so the round three match-ups should be up in the next few hours. Just to confirm, I have not received notification of a result for Sanguinary Dan vs TrenchRunner, so I'll be treating that as a 5-5 draw.

Five minutes to post your new fleets, too! :D
