Just so everyone knows where I'm getting that, Endless Vigil is product code SWF30, while Savage Spirits is SWF41. So based on the product codes, Savage Spirits was intended to be released after Endless Vigil, another unknown career book, and another non-career book (likely an Adventure).

So it's possible the images and layout we see in Savage Spirits was expecting the things in those books to already be on the shelf. It's also possible they changed it when they decided to release things out of the originally expected order.

And with Forged In Battle we got our first look at a species who has the mechanics of a Force Power as a Species Ability. The cost is obviously going to be different, but Mirulaka could have the basic Farsight power for free and an upgrade for a strain cost.

The species in Forged in Battle with Force Leap as a special ability is interesting, I admit. I do like that they left it open enough that the species still benefits from taking Enhance, instead of just making that part of the Force power useless, but as mentioned it does open the doors for more.

However, should miraluka ever be released (I'm not too enchanted by them, but whatever, it'll make some people happy), you'll want to keep in mind that if they do show up and FFG follows a similar pattern, their innate Farsight ability would not be so potent as to make the Farsight power itself irrelevant to them. Therefore, I would expect that their abilities would basically say that, although they are blind they take no penalties (but gain no bonuses) from their lack of eyes, and they can suffer 3 strain (as an incidental? A maneuver? Probably a maneuver) to see through obfuscation and objects within medium range for the rest of the round. That way even the basic power of Farsight is still something that they benefit from taking.

Of course, Forged in Battle is an Age book, and therefore it is by no means assumed that every character is Force-sensitive. If the MiraLucas do show up it will be, as expected, in a Force book, and therefore a different means of describing their ability may present itself that goes along with Force's conceit of every character starting with a Force Rating of 1. I personally doubt they'd do that, as even though Force and Destiny does assume that, the developers are not idiots, and they know that people will try to port the race to Edge or Age. They wouldn't make a race that requires a F&D career to use.

Just becauce a race is inherently Force Sensitive (as the Miraluka are), does not mean that thye "have to" start with a Force Sensitive career. They would simply start with a Force Rating of 1 as part of their Species characteristics. In the case of Miraluka, they should probably also start with the base Foresight for free as well.

You don't even need to reduce the range. Canonically, Miraluka's "Force Sight" allows them to "see" just as well as normal sighted people do. Thus, the range of their "sight" should be the same as normal vision.

Well, that's just it. Miraluka shouldn't need to purchase the base ability because it is inherent to them. They should only need to purchase the upgrades.

And they do. A PC Miraluka with that ability has the ability to see even though they lack eyes, using the Force; the same is true for NPCs. A PC Miraluka with that ability that has also invested into Farsight has the ability to see even though they lack eyes; they've just trained their ability (represented by spending the required XP) beyond what is normal for the average Miraluka citizen.

Starting out with Force Rating 1 as a species ability may not be all that spectacular a benefit for the Force and Destiny line, but considering it's meant to be cross-compatible with AoR and EotE, in those game lines having FR1 for free is a HUGE perk, worth at least 20 XP (cost to purchase Force Exile or Force Emergent).

I think Blackbird888's got the right of it, in that if Miraluka do get an official write-up as a playable species, they'll most likely get a watered down version of Farsight and have to acquire a Force Rating the same any other PC would.

From the sound of things it'll be the narrative SigAb (Sig? SA? What is a good way to abbreviate that so we don't have to type out "Signature Ability" every single time?), meaning it can be much more fluid. But I still can't think of what it does!

My City may be relating to information gathering, or chase scenes, where they spend 2 DP to simply know where something is, how to get there etc.

or it could be more of a "My City... get off my lawn!!!" kind of ability that helps you deal with adversaries in some way, forcing them to leave the city and not return.

Hmm, that could work. Sort of like Sudden Discovery, but for inside a city instead of in the wilds? And that's not even unprecedented, either: Fated Duel and This One is Mine are basically the same thing, just one's for personal scale and one's for vehicle scale. This could be the same thing, only environment-specific instead of scale-specific.

I'm pretty sure My City will give you benefits to athletics, coordination, stealth, streetwise and Knowledge underworld. Its your city so its easy for you to move around, find information and Be Batman.
