I'm wanting to build a squad with Starviper and Houndstooth. Don't have much in mind just know I want to have Cloaking Device upgrade on the Starviper. *Edited to include Signature* List of expansions in signature.

Could be fun. Moralo will be more maneuverable with EU than most YVs, has a massive zone of fire with his ability and HLC, Gunner can wear down tokened-up Aces like Fel, and the Glitterstim gives you a helpful bit of dice modification when you have to red maneuver. Guri is fairly defensive, but given Predator and her pilot ability can hit hard.
These sound great I'll have to try both of them. Please keep the ideas coming open to other ships as well just those two are my primary focus right now. Also is it possible to force Virago Title on a generic Starviper pilot? say by using VI ?
Since neither the Enforcer nor the Vigo has an EPT, you're unable to raise their PS.
To be honest, until there is a StarViper fix, neither of the generics are worth their points- they are very much over-costed for what you get. Guri is decent although low PS, Xizor can be alright if he has a mini-swarm to fly with (or a Gonk'd big ship like Farseer said), but overall the Viper is kinda broken right now. It is an ok ship just...less than what it should be.
It should be the Scum Defender, expensive, hard-hitting, and fairly tough, but it lacks Ace-level pilots or the defensiveness necessary to fulfill that role. Like the Kihraxz, the StarViper suffers from too many hitpoints in hull rather than shield, making both easily destroyed due to critical hits, without a defensive action like Evade to bolster its Agility dice.

I have also considered going to Tel with Gonk. I've ran a contacted scout bumpmaster.
I may give the YV a chance. IEing Gonk with Dengar crew might provide some incredible taking and damage output.
The other thing hurting the starviper is it's lack of green. It's only got four green manuevers. If it had a better dial, it could operate as a heavy interceptor. PTL to get some extra action economy. It just doesn't have the dial to consistently shed the stress. I was running around with 4 stress tokens on xizor yesterday, and having to keep performing white manuevers to keep on my target.
