In non-news, Wave III is still on the boat. The period for Shipping is considered 7-10 days. So, if it were to start shipping as soon as tomorrow, then we would expect them to drop between the 14th and the 17th. In my imperfect recollection, these shipping windows are also somewhat optimistic, and 10 is more likely than 7 days.

Does anyone have the gumption to make it a research project of when the status changes (from 'at the printer' to 'on the boat' to 'shipping now') to the actual release dates were for X-Wing over the past several waves? You can probably find it by going through the X-Wing forums.

Well, they just switched osme Android and Imperial Assault Product from "Shipping Now" to "In Stores", and announced it.

If they want it legal for GenCon it will be announced as Shipping to Stores sometime in the next 24 hours. Assuming they are aiming for the usual Thursday release.

They need at least 11 days ahead of GenCon. GenCon starts in exactly 3 weeks and the first round is on Thursday. By their own rules, the latest they can release it into stores is Sunday the 24th. But they won't because that's a weekend. Meaning the latest they can actually release it is next Friday, the 22nd. Which means the day they'll actually move it to In Stores is July 21st, the day before, so that people can pick it up as it arrives in stores over the weekend and be able to use it at GenCon.

But they can only do that if they change it to Shipping tomorrow, because it takes about a week to move products from their warehouse at whatever port they used to their distributor locations around the country.

/ edit / For what it's worth, I almost want them to delay the release now and just force us to use Wave 2. I've had more games on Vassal over the last month than on tabletop because there's just no way to seriously practice with the new stuff.
