Bets are on: When will Wave III drop?

By Mikael Hasselstein, in Star Wars: Armada

Wave III has been on the boat since 5/18 (or, at least, that's when the status was updated).

'On The Boat' means: "The product is traveling from the printer to our warehouse. The duration of this process varies depending on where the printer is located, be it in the US, China, or Germany, but generally takes four to six weeks." (strikes mine)

Tomorrow, that will be seven weeks ago.

So, what do you think the drop date will be (when it's available in stores and legal in tournaments)? As before (last year), I'll try to keep this OP updated with people's guesses. The prize for guessing the right date is: Supreme bragging rights for all things FFG logistics. After all, if you guessed it right once, you're clearly a God.

My guess is *drumroll*....

7/29!!

My reasoning: seems about right, and it would be awesome because I'm hosting a tournament on 7/31 (a.k.a. wishful thinking).

The List:

7/14 - Amanal

7/15 - WhatsArmadaWithYou

7/17 - Kiwi Rat

7/20 - CenterPoint, Caldias, D503

7/21 - IceQube, Gamir, Xindell, tgall, thecactusman17

7/22 - Lord Vithiss

7/23 - ouzel

7/24 - fistfulofforce

7/25 - WGNF911

7/28 - puntspeedchunk, Stasy, Lyraeus

7/29 - Mikael Hasselstein, Cubanboy

8/4 - FoaS

8/5 - KAGE13

12/25 - Blail Blerg

Ugh, the system gave me an error, so I tried it again. Result: two threads with the same topic.

Let's use this one, and allow the other to fade into obscurity.

7/29 is fair. It will drop late enough in July that the 11 day gap before becoming legal won't have passed by Gencon, leaving the NA Championships on wave 2.

It will be after the 18th of July.

On or Before the 18th of July would mean they were legal in a Regional.... let alone Nationals....

What's this 11-day gap you're talking about? Is that something related to specific tournaments? According to the Tournament regulations "In North America, products are legal upon their release date. Players outside North America should check with their organizer to determine which products are tournament legal."

Im guessing July 20th

Reasoning: wednesdays are nice, and i get to work from home

From here:

https://www.fantasyflightgames.com/en/op/legality/

Relaxed and Formal Tier tournaments: All product is legal in North America upon the product's official release.

Premier Tier tournaments: All product is legal in North America 11 days—typically the second Monday—after the product's official release. This allows players at these high-profile tournaments sufficient time to acquire and prepare with each new release.

You, of course, are correct for your tournament.... no Wait...

I can never remember if regionals are formal or premier....

They are a premier event Dras.

I'd rather they just issue a statement saying "not legal at regional level or gencon events, wubaduba dub dub!" So I can have my new toys ASAP.

One dollar, Mikael. JK, I'll go July 20th.

August.

July 21... so to be legal for GenCon and North American Championship

14th - optimistic me.

Wow, so far everyone who's placed a single-date bet has been more optimistic than me.

August 5, even though I'd like it to be July 7th.
