OK, who else has made it into Day 1A of X-wing?
Worlds 1A
I have.
Will be travelling from Sweden.
Looking forward...Im only driving from Ohio...just a 10 hour drive...Hotels are also now open to book as well with the FFG BLOCK of rooms
Any recommendations regarding hotel? Are there any special deals/booking codes for FFG/Worlds hotel bookings?

I went with the red roof inn nearby. It is free to cancel the room if something better comes up as well.
I stayed in the Red Roof Inn last year. It's cheap but it's cheap. Pretty good Mexican place right next door though.
FFG is in a pretty boring part of town. Rooms nearby will be cheap but you won't have a lot of dining options (besides fast food). Alternatively you can choose to stay in downtown Minneapolis which is not much further away and can be easily traversed using UBER or LYFT. Finally, if you're flying in your best option might be to stay near the airport which is also inexpensive but you'd probably want to rent a car - the drive to and from the airport is at worst 30 minutes.
The Twin Cities have a lot of great places to eat and things to do when you're not flying plastic spaceships so don't be afraid of straying away from the event center.
My personal choice having gone last year is the raddison for a few reasons. Firstly it's a short 2 minute walk to FFG, free breakfast Buffett, some events are being held there, Also indoor pool/hot tub. And there are quite a few rooms blocked by FFG for booking.
I'm in for 1A... I'll most likely be staying with an old high school buddy and his family in Eagen. If some of my other buddies make it out to worlds, I may hotel it up closer to FFG.

Holy ****..... Day 1a's slots sold out in under 5 minutes today.
I made it in! Went to X-wing first and things processed perfectly. Did Armada next and it took a few tries to connect to PayPal, but I got through. I can't wait to see everyone there.
Got my ticket exactly as the clock hit 12:01 PST. Yay... now to book flight/hotel.
I might be in Day 1A, will have to see if my registration actually went through (doubtful). The only promising thing is that it wouldn't let me sign-up for Day 1B. So either I have signed up with some glitch in the payment, or I was just locked out...
.
Edit: Well that is strange, I refreshed my paypal screen for the 10th time & it let me register for Day 1A at 2:21 CDT!?!
Edited by MechGumbiCall the radisson there is a block.
Call the radisson there is a block.
What's the block rate?
109, which is the same as the red roof averages out to be.
you can get cheaper further away, but then you gotta factor in either a car or UBER/LYFT. In the end its a pretty good deal.
Edited by TimathiusHmmm ... Is that pre- or post-tax? My RR reservation is more than $20/night cheaper, enough that the slightly less amenable hotel is still preferable.
I just need to decide whether to drive or fly. Pack two games worth of gear in my luggage, or take all I need but put in an all-day drive each way.
I got into 1A and Armada, and figure I'll hang around for Hanger Bay on Saturday.

Thats pretax I believe though that is for two beds as opposed to one. My RR was 79 for thursday and then 125ish for friday and saturday.
The Key Inn across the street from the Radisson is $80/night for all four nights. It's about on-par with the Red Roof.
Also in for 1A. Flying in from Arizona!
I also got into Armada 1a and looking forward to hanger bay and team events for both....and probably I'll bring rebellion along to fill in some gaps....FFG has a huge wall of demo games as well...can't wait to play and chat
Managed to wrangle my way into 1A as well. Flying in from the UK.
Last year I can do "International X-Wing" for a while what with the boy starting school this year, so really looking forward to this!
Is there a spectator ticket or something that can be purchased? Or can I just show up to watch? Anyone know?
