Did a quick search for my topic title and didn't see an answer so I thought I would ask it even though I think I know the answer. If OL has Han locked can Han use his ability and re-roll attack dice or does OL's ability cancel that?

Han's ability is still a reroll, so still comes under the 'modify dice' step.

That is what I was thinking but felt bad telling my 8 year old daughter she couldn't do that outright and that I would ask the forum.

Don't take denial effects against an 8 year old would be my advice.

The problem actually raised it's head in the game thanks to my wife (who was flying Poe at the time) tried to use TL on OL earlier in the game due to being too close to Carner Jax to be able to Focus and I then told her she couldn't re-roll with the TL because I had Poe locked at the time. Then later in the game I had Han locked with my daughter flying him and I decided to let her make the re-rolls but said I wasn't sure (even though when thinking about how the ability worked as basically a TL and shouldn't work) and that I would get confirmation. I am still new to the game and some of the ability conflicts get to me. We, as a rule, follow the rules of any game we are playing even with the kids so they don't get used to playing one way just because they are young then get told later that the game doesn't work that way.

OL is just a bully, he picks on one person and denies them.

But yeah i'd avoid denials in a friendly game especially against a little kid. I feel mean enough as it is using Juke against a 9yr old kid at my store lol

Yup. OL with Juke and Comm is Fat Han's worst nightmare, basically, he just ignores all of Han's goodies and reliably jams a damage down his throat every round until he dies. C3PO? Nah. Evade action? Lol. Focus? Nope. After all, that, manage to roll an evade on your single die? Knocked over.

What I was playing was my usual 100 point list of OL with Juke and Comm Relay, Echo with VI, FCS, and ACD, and Carnor with Royal Guard Title, AT, PTL, and SD. Against my wife flying Poe in the T70, my son (6) flying Boba in the Firespray and my daughter (8) flying Han in the YT1300. With no upgrades they had 116 squad points and if it wasn't for some REALLY lucky rolling on my part and some REALLY unlucky rolling on theirs they would have won fast. And like I said in an earlier post we try to play things using at least most of the rules correctly.

The new Black One title will also counter OL's ability pretty well. It lets you remove a target lock from a friendly at range 1 (including the ship with the title) after performing a boost or barrel-roll.
