I am working on mine right now and I keep coming back to Mon Karren, Salvation, Yavaris, Bright Hope, Luke, Nym and Keyan. . .

Nice. I settled on Liberty with a Suite of Turbolasers, Salvation, Tantive IV, Bright Hope and Wedge + four X-Wings. Idea is to use Madine to drift across the map while keeping the powerful noses of the fleet on target. The X-Wings are there to tackle Rhymer Ball threats, and can even threaten cap ships by taking advantage of Bright Hopes BCC. I'm not super happy with it, but it's now 3am and my brain is gunk.
Advanced Gunnery, Contested Outpost, Superior Positions
General Madine
MC80 Battle Cruiser: Liberty, Skilled First Officer, Veteran Gunners, MS-1 Ion Cannons (For those pesky ECMS), Quad Turbolaser Cannons, H9 Turbolasers (For the double accuracy with no pesky ECMS)
Nebulon-B Escort Frigate: Salvation, Spinal Armament (Pretty self explanatory)
CR90a Corvette: Tantive IV, Raymus Antilles, Turbolaser Reroute Circuits (To hand Squadron Command Tokens to Liberty as needed and Navigation commands to everyone as desired)
GR-75 Medium Transports: Bright Hope, Expanded Hangar Bay, Bomber Command Center (To make with the X-Winging.)
Wedge Antilles, X-Wing Squadron x4
Edited by CuthawolfI too have found this contest to be oddly difficult, despite loving fleet building myself. For some time I tried to build an effective area denial imperial list, but all seemed out of place when trying to mix up interdictor with ISD, and even VSD. I then tried interdictor + demolisher, but that felt kind of clumsy too. In the end I settled for the easymode: liberty + salvation + a bunch of gr 75 and stuff.
Anyway, I feel your pain guys, new toys look hard to master and build around.

I am currently on Madine as well. My first iteration had Cracken which was very useful for most of the ships and it would give me a bigger bid. . . so tempting. Madine offers some amazing benefits though.

RIGHT! The requirement for having 1 of each wave 3 and 4 ship has complicated the build so much!

Yeah. I want to try an all Medium/Small ship build with Cracken at some point, but Madines drift and turn is just so enticing. He might be my new go-to fleet commander when I'm out of ideas.
Came up with another list just while mucking around and I kind of wish I'd submitted it instead:
General Rieekan
MC80 Battlecruiser: Endeavor, Skilled First Officer, Veteran Gunners, Medical Team, High-Capacity Ion Turbines, Quad Turbolaser Cannons, H9 Turbolasers. (Mostly the same ship as before, but with some nods to survival as well.)
Nebulon-B Support Refit: Redemption, Projection Experts, Spinal Armament (Specifically for keeping the Endeavor up and functional, with some added bite.)
GR-75 Medium Transports: Bright Hope, Expanded Hangar Bay, Repair Crews (Basically it cuddles the Endeavor and either commands squadrons to back it up, or removes damage cards if they're piling up fast.)
Dash Rendar, Han Solo, Jan Ors, X-Wings Squadron x2, YT-2400 x2 (A squadron group that functions well on its own or with the Bright Hope. Enough to skirmish with a Rhymer Ball and with a surprisingly nasty Anti-Ship barrage.)
Here are the 2 lists I am debating on atm. . . I will not sleep till I pick
Carrier Liberty
Combat Liberty.

I am far, faaaar from an expert, but the fighter presence in both lists seems a little anemic for the amount of ship upgrade points supporting them. I like the Carrier Liberty though, that is one unpleasant carrier to run into.
And now. Bed.

Here is the list I went with. I included my list synopsis that I put into the description for the contest.
Pfft... squads. I only took two squads, and they aren't even real squads, either.
I'm currently kicking myself. My preference is to focus on ship combat, with just enough of a screen to keep enemy fighters off of me, and only while reading this thread do I realize that a Gozanti with Jamming Field is PERFECT for that role, making it really easy for a small number of fighters to tie up a superior force for a long time. Instead, my submitted fleet gave it Slicer Tools, continuing with the theme of screwing with enemy capital ships do that I can beat them to death with a Star Destroyer or two.
Oh well, live and learn.
