Prey on the Weak talent

By RLogue177, in Star Wars: Force and Destiny RPG

"The character deals +1 damage to one hit on all successful combat checks against disoriented targets per rank of Prey on the Weak."

Force and Destiny core book, pp. 149

Is it +1 damage per rank, or is it an additional target per rank?

Someone e'splain this one to me please and thank you.

Pretty sure it's +1 damage per rank, as increasing targets is a very circumstantial ability that Aggressor isn't really built to take advantage of.

Yes, it's +1 damage per rank. But only damage inflicted upon disoriented targets. If you happened to disorient a group of people, and then AOE damage them, you'd technically quality for +1 to each of them.

Edited to remove wrong.

If you can disorient them first, a stun grenade from a friend is a good one method.

Works very well with Sarlac Sweep and Auto-Fire... If you can disorient them first (stun grenade from a friend is a good one)

It only applies on one hit per attack, so it doesn't actually do anything more for the attack types you mention since they serve to grant extra hits.

Ah yes, so it does. thankyou

Works really well if you're using two blasters and the main-hand one is the "Flashfire" from SoF or has the tactical illuminator attachment. Of course, you'd need 4 Advantage - 2 to trigger Disorient and then 2 more to get the second hit - but you could add the damage from Prey on the Weak to the second hit.

It still applies to only one hit per roll of the dice regardless of how many hits that roll of the dice produces through any means.

Sure, but you don't have to take it on the first hit. You can "save" it for the one from the secondary weapon.

Ehh, I can see where HappyDaze is coming from. When you dual wield, you're basically firing both weapons at once. So you don't necessarily have time to wait and see if the first shot disorients them before you take the 2nd shot. He who hesitates is lost... or in this case, waits until next round.

So you could disorient this round, and then get the bonus next round.

I'd say it's up to the individual GM. The wording of the rules do simply state "a hit," probably to account for stuff like Autofire and Linked which can routinely dish out multiple hits in one round.

Personally, I'd allow the player to chose which "hit" got the benefits of the talent.
