I couldn't actually find anywhere that states it explicity in the rules. Is the career special ability always available, or is it like a talent and needs to be activated in a talent slot?

Um, sorry, probably a silly question. I just read the Mercenary special ability card and it is "once per session...". There is no way this is going to play the same as a talent, so obviously the special ability is always available.
